Went for early dinner on a Sunday. We got right in because the opener for the Broncos was in town, so everyone was at a sports bar instead.
Sat by an uninterested hostess who was more involved with her nails than with our table assignment. We sat outside, close to the walk-up and delivery area, I guess? Well, we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally after about 13 minutes waiting, a waiter (didn't realize he was one based on his blue jean jacket and lack of any waiting materials) turned around from the table he had been standing there chatting with and said "hello, can I get your drink order?"
He literally stood there for almost 15 minutes talking to his homies as their waitress served them multiple drinks over 2 or 3 visits to their table, chatting with these 2 guys. Oblivious to his own table. Well, we ordered, got an appetizer, ordered non alcoholic drinks, and our food. Everything was okay. The food was okay. Took about 10 minutes before we were able to eat, though, because we both had to get up and go in different directions to find someone to give us silverware. (The chatty waiter was also oblivious to this the few times he actually did get to our table). After finally getting silverware, we ate. During the meal, the waiter never came back to our table once. He did finally come back after we finished dropping off the check. We got no refills during our meal, only an initial drink, and that was it. This is because this waiter was more concerned with serving the table of 6 extremely obnoxious and extremely over served drunks sitting 2 tables from us, as well as the two guys he was chatting with while we were seated who were drinking heavily (shots and bottle service apparently), as well as another table near the entrance which had two young women heavily drinking.
So the key to this restaurant is:
If you want service, you better drink alcohol. Otherwise, you won't get it.
And based on the reviews here already, apparently, their alcohol is watered down. So 🤷♂️...
I can tell you I have reported this restaurant to the state health department for the over serving as I am required to do based on my career. Of the 10 people I watched get served alcohol, watered down or not, they were dangerously over served. One woman went to the restroom, and coming back was so intoxicated she sat at the wrong table and then just laughed and laughed and thoroughly annoyed the people she interrupted.
These operators of Necio clearly have no training on alcohol awareness and safety. They will allow their staff to serve until someone dies, then do it again the next day. It is apparent that they are trying to reach an "upscale" vibe by serving as much as they possibly can and as fancily as possible (shot towers, sugar rimmed drinks, powder colored shot glasses and bottle service etc. With unlimited mimosas).
And just to satisfy other reviewers here who review about "race" being a factor...
I'm white. My friend who dined with me was Hispanic. So race doesn't dictate...
Read moreI usually don’t leave reviews like this, but I feel obligated to warn others, especially families, about what happened to me at this restaurant and how it was handled.
While dining here, my food was served on a cast iron skillet with no protective silicone sleeve—a basic safety measure most restaurants use. The waiter was clearly struggling to carry the skillet and even warned me that it was “very, very hot.” I wrapped it in a towel as a precaution, but had to use that towel to clean my hands since they didn’t provide enough napkins. Midway through the meal, I forgot the skillet was still exposed, and when I reached across the table, I accidentally pressed my arm against the handle and suffered a second-degree burn. My skin melted off instantly. I had to treat it with a first aid kit, and now, weeks later, I still have a large scar on my arm.
The burn was bad enough, but the service was also frustrating. The food was honestly not good, and our server disappeared for long stretches. When we finally got up to find him so we could pay, he snapped at us, saying, “I go to your table. You don’t come to me.” His whole demeanor felt dismissive and rushed. Because of how hectic it all was, I didn’t mention the burn right then, I decided to follow up directly with the restaurant.
After returning home, I left multiple messages with staff and there was no follow up. I called again one last time, was told the owner wasn’t available and would call me back later and seconds later, he did. He said he had received my message but had just been too busy to reply. During our conversation, he told me he needed to conduct an “internal investigation” to confirm my version of events with audio from the restaurant and statements from his staff. He claimed they’ve “never served anything hot enough to burn anyone,” while also acknowledging they use cast iron skillets heated to over 100 degrees.
I told him I wasn’t seeking money, I simply wanted them to take accountability and put better safety measures in place so this doesn’t happen to anyone else, especially a child. He agreed to look into it and asked me to email him with the full story and proof of the burn. I did that on June 12.
By June 19, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I followed up again via email. It’s now July 1, and I’ve received no response at all.
If you’re considering dining here, just know: if something serious happens, even an injury, you may be completely ignored. I sincerely hope this review helps protect someone else from going...
Read moreI’m so disappointed writing this review because normally they do an amazing job but not this time. I went to Neicos to celebrate my birthday. I called a week in advance to book a reservation for 10 at 6pm on a Saturday. I called 2 hours before just to confirm the reservation and they said yes they had it right there. My party and I arrived 15 minutes early and we were told if we could wait 10 minutes while they get the table ready so we said okay and waited outside. 30 minutes! Passed so I went back in and asked what’s going on is it ready? The host said they needed 10 more minutes (it was very packed and busy that night) but we had a reservation so they should have had the table ready to go. The host seem to forget or something because she said how our “party” was seated already and I told her no it was not because I made the reservation and my whole party was with me waiting outside. She then goes and talks to someone and comes 3 times outside to ask how many of us there was. I was getting frustrated. I don’t think it was a language barrier either because we spoke in both English and Spanish to her. She was only trying to seat my husband and I and not the other 8. So after 45 minutes of waiting passed our reservation we finally were seated. The waiter takes our drink order and we get it pretty fast, he takes our order. We wait another 30 minutes! We were done with our drinks by then. The waiter didn’t come to our table to check in or get us refills or anything. By the time they bring our food out they forget half of the table even though the ones they forgot all got the same thing (Al pastor tacos) but I seen other waiters bringing out the same order to different tables. I as well got that so why would they just bring my plate of tacos but not the other people sitting there theirs when it was the same thing? The service was horrible, the host was seating down taking shots with who knows who. The waiters were as well just drinking. It was very unpleasant and unprofessional. I’m very disappointed because my birthday dinner was ruined by this experience. I really hope they fix these mistakes or hire someone new up front because what’s the point of making a reservation if I have to wait? She didn’t seem like it was all there and now I know why because she was taking shots with everyone just having a good time not doing her job. So unfortunately because they place was great years ago when I’ve gone and now it’s just not being ran...
