I visit this dunkin donuts 3-5 times a week, and they frequently get my order wrong. I often have to go back through the drive thru to have them correct it, but most times I don’t have the time or patience to go through again. They also tend not to label the coffees they give me, or the labels are incomplete and I can’t differentiate which drinks are which.
Because of this, I decided today that I would write down my order and hand it to them at the drive thru because it was more complex, and so they weren’t as likely to get it wrong. I drove up and told the person taking my order that I had it written down, and she said to drive to the front window. She asked me why I wrote down my order and said that she already knows what I order. My order frequently changes as I order for many people and like to try different things, so her “knowing my order” isn’t accurate in any way. I told her that it’s because it is often wrong when I give it verbally. She then became very insistent that she never gets my order wrong and that if her manager was there, they would flat out refuse me service for giving her a written order. If this is truly the case, she should have informed me at the speaker instead of ushering me through.
She said that it was her who made all my drinks every time I come through, but this is not the case as she had insisted. I have witnessed the other employee make my coffee on multiple occasions, so to my understanding this information was false. I then told her that it wasn’t so much her that made my coffee wrong, but the other employee. To note, both employees have made it wrong, but she consistently does it far less. She told me that this was favoritism of customers to take a written order and that it was favoritism of the employee. She got upset and insisted that I was implying that the other employee made my order wrong on purpose. To this, I told her that I didn’t care who made it, just that it was made correctly. I never mentioned having a specific employee make my coffees, so this was very unfounded of her to say.
She gave me back the order that I wrote and the receipt for my coffees.
Even though I wrote the order down and she insisted that she didn’t get my orders wrong before, the order was wrong. Again. Because of how rude she was and offended she seemed, I just drove away. I still have the written order and receipt she gave me to prove that she did in fact get it wrong.
One employee was a young and skinny blonde girl, and the other employee was a lighter skinned mixed race girl with long black hair. The blonde employee was the person I was talking to.
Honestly, the Ankeny Dunkin donuts that is owned by the same person is so much better. The employees are nice and they get the order's right.
