Tasty Tacos — Restaurant in Des Moines

A few weeks ago a friend bought me a Tasty Taco. I hadn't eaten one in years so I was really surprised at how great it tasted. So, I decided to stop and buy some myself. As a rule, I try to buy local but I've also avoided going in to businesses because I have a medically fragile child. Against my better judgement, I called in an order & put my mask on to run inside and pick it up since there is no drive through or curbside pickup. When I got inside, I noticed 2 out of the 3 other patrons with their masks barely on. One guy's mask just covered his chin. This really bothered me but I'm afraid to say anything to the anti-mask people after being screamed at by an anti-masker one day & verbally abused so I understood why staff weren't saying anything.

I walked up to the area where you pick up to-go orders and a staff member approached to help me. His mask wasn't covering his nose! He wiped a spot off the counter where customers stand to order and pickup then turned to go in the back and pick up my order without washing his hands or using hand sanitizer after touching a cleaning rag/surfaces used by customers. I was shocked. I paid for my order since I had placed it but then went outside and contemplated the whole thing. I thought about throwing it away but I'm too poor to afford to do anything that dramatic.

The tacos tasted great but I definitely won't be returning until the pandemic gets better. I just can't understand how hard it could be to wear your mask correctly & sanitize surfaces and your hands properly. It wasn't even busy when I was there so I don't think this had anything to do with forgetting good hygiene habits during a rush. I think this is status quo at least for...

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, So I went into tasty tacos today around 1 and ordered some food and went back to the jobsite and unpacked it. After I unpacked the bags I had discovered that the order had multiplemissing items in it. I called back at that time to let them know I would like to get the rest of the order when I can convient grab them after work, she asked what time I would come I said around 4. I called them at 630 to let the establishment know I couldn't grab them today id have to try to tomorrow, I spoke to apparently the ONLY LADY THERE as she expressed multiple times negating we ever talked.. and that she was denying the request to pick up the remainder of the food at a different time and the request for a credit saying I never spoke with her.

PEOR SERVICIO AL CLIENTE, Así que entré a sabrosos tacos hoy alrededor de la 1 y pedí algo de comida y volví al lugar de trabajo y lo desempaqué. Después de desempacar las bolsas, descubrí que el pedido tenía varios artículos faltantes. Volví a llamar en ese momento para hacerles saber que me gustaría obtener el resto del pedido cuando pueda hacerlo convenientemente después del trabajo, ella me preguntó a qué hora vendría. Dije alrededor de las 4. Now I normally dont rate or review but I absolutely hated my experience here.

I was on Military Orders not to long ago, for lunch a couple of buddies and I talked about going out and try some local spots.

We saw they place driving to the hotel the night prior. Well, we came in for lunch the next day and WOW.

I ordered the burrito and a taco. Both steak with everything. I was told that everything else cost extra. I ask how much extra ?? The man at the register said just .50 cents. I paid for the extra toppings that usally come with the meal but for .50 it wasn't a big deal.

Now just for a burrito and a taco it cost way to much, but we'll support the local spots. Hell were from out of the state. When the food came it was the thinnest burrito and it looks like they melted a craft chesse slice on top. My taco was disappointing as well.

I ASKED FOR STEAK! I got some weird type of meat that tasted like the meat off a roast beef sandwich. The extra toppings came in a container that was about inch tall, the sour cream was in a pre purchased packet. The salsa wasn't even homemade, it tasted like salsa you buy out of the jar for a super bowl party.

The best thing about the place was the soda fountain. I sat there amazed that this place was receiving so much business, These Owners would NOT last a single month in Chicago.
