For real, this is the worst place I've ever had teriyaki chicken. You get to watch them cook it so that's cool, one star for that. But the chef, on god, took raw chicken breast, slices it up, and cooks it on a table top flat grill. No seasoning, nothing. also the chicken has not even taken on any color before it's ready to plate. Then they put it over your choice of rice or noodles, I chose noodle and I wish I chose rice because I love rice but I was feeling adventurous. These noodles are like if you shredded plastic into strips and boiled it until it was seconds away from mush. Now I feel like I can say this because I've had countless other better versions of this dish but it gets worse. They ladel on this watery teriyaki essence juice that is so thin in just runs off the meat and noodles and pools at the bottom of the tray. The salad that comes with is good quality but if you get anything other than ranch you are in a for a trip. The citrus dressing is just soy sauce. I'm mostly disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. The inside is cute, the chairs are comfy and the staff is actually really friendly and helpful. I wasn't rushed at all and they explained things to me when I had questions. But to pay close to 35 for 2 meals like what I described it just is not worth it and I cannot recommend this place...
Read moreI was very pleased with my experience here. From the outside it doesn't look that nice but on the inside it is very clean with a nice decor. They play fun upbeat music and the person making my bowl was very friendly. I am horrible at making decisions and it was taking me a long time to figure out what protein I wanted on top of my bowl, but with choices like tofu, chicken, steak shrimp and salmon can you blame me? The guy suggested shrimp and I was so glad he did! When you order your meat they cook it right there in front of you and then place it on top of a generous bed of fried rice or noodles. A bowl also comes with a salad, that is more than just shredded carrots and iceberg lettuce. There is romaine, broccoli, edamame, carrot, and red onion. And I was pleasantly surprised that the broccoli and edamame in the salad were lightly cooked so that you don't feel like you are chomping on green stuff forever. My husband and I each got a bowl with salad rice and meat, plus a drink and out total was only $18 for the both of us! I will definitely be back, this might become our new date...
Read moreWe stopped by here for dinner from a cross country road trip. We're from New York, and I have to say, the food here is comparable to some of the best Japanese fusion places I've had.
Their sauces are out of this world. We loved the Yum yum sauce (don't know what's in there, but it's so good) and the ginger sauce. We had the Rock Shrimp, Chicken Katsu, and Scarlet Roll for appetizers. They were all phenomenal. Loved the sauce for the rock shrimp too. Our entrees were the Salmon and Steak teriyaki on a salad bowl. So filling and yet we felt energized and healthy from this meal.
Service: can't ask for anything better. Everyone was attentive and made sure we were being helped. They were so fast in getting our order together.
If I lived here in Des Moines, I would likely come here at least once a week for this food. Highly recommend this place!
Thank you guys for making our experience in Des Moines...
