I have grown up on the tacos from Henry J's. I believe they are the best tacos on the planet. I'm impressed by how much updating they have done to the building. It used to look like this little taco shanty but it's looking more and more modernized every time I stop there. I always order a meal with 2 flour bean tacos and 2 sides of fido. When you get a drink you can have them add cherry flavor into it which I love. I ended up buying 2 Henry J's shirt also which was something new since the last time I was there. I just wish they would have had the sizes I wanted.

The place is good with a unique taco flare. If you're looking for traditional tacos or even Mexican street tacos, keep looking. These are deep fried flour tortilla tacos with mixed meat/bean filling and the usual veggies and cheese on top. The sides, aka beans and rice, are just OK but the tacos are yummy and just prefect if your craving a hearty non traditional taco.

Great spot for fried tacos. Don't expect to find street style our gourmet tacos. Their fried tortilla is similar to Tasty tacos but more on the crispy side and less chewy. Best re-fried beans I've ever had. You can tell they really cool them ( probably with lard)

Henry Js is the perfect place to stop in and grab a quick bite, either to stay and eat or to take home. Their shells are fried to perfection, with their special blend of meat and beans, topped with cheese. The flavor in all their dishes is unique and super tasty. My go-to dish is the 2 taco meal with rice and beans. It's more than what you need but you get a great portion of food for a good price. Let's not forget about the cheese curds. Those are a must! Crunchy, full of cheese, everything you'd want and expect. I haven't met someone who hasn't loved eating at Henry J's. They've been around for a long time on the Southside, and there's a reason for it. Their...

SOUTH SIDE HIDDEN JEWEL! The tastiest unknown Mexican restaurant in the Metro. I have been eating here for years. I have always received courteous takeout orders. Prices are very reasonable, for the portions. This small restaurant offers a unique, savory experience. I appreciate it's simple, yet delicious, down-home Mexican style offerings. Their sides are nearly addictive. I have tried; beef fried tacos w/meal, taco salad, jalapeño poppers, burritos, funnel cake fries, tostadas, quesadillas, and "Spudz" (deep fried cheese/potato bites). Everyone of these items were unforgettably flavorful. I highly recommend trying "Henry-J's", that is if you...

I was very disappointed, I had a combo, flour taco and cheese enchilada with sides of rice and beans. The beans were ok, not smashed and creamy but left whole, the rice had a funny smell, I've never had Mexican rice smell like this rice did, made me loose my appetite. The flour taco was fried dark brown and almost burnt and the flour shell reminded me more of a wonton wrap. I left most of my food on my plate, it was just not good!! The place could stand a good cleaning too!! I really wanted to enjoy some Henry J's like I remember from back in the day but, no. I guess I will stick with...
