I've always come to this McDonalds to use their internet, and I've always bought at least a drink, and usually a small or medium fry. Sometimes I'll buy a full meal if I have the money. I've been a regular customer here for a few months now, and I've always been quiet, respectful, and have cleaned up after myself, which is more than I can say about a lot of their other customers, especially from the high school. Yes, I stay longer than the average customer, but the staff here has always been good about letting me stay, considering I spend money here every time I come in, which was almost every day.
Unfortunately, today was a different experience. The manager/shift leader Carla (not sure what her actual title was) sent the maintenance guy to tell me to buy something else or leave. The maintenance guy was polite and did what he could to provide decent customer service while giving unpleasant news, so I didn't ask his name. He did say she was a new manager, though I think I've seen her there before. She might have been newly promoted or something, but I'm not sure.
I noticed as he was telling me to go that she was lurking behind the table I was sitting at watching him do what she was free to do herself. I was the only customer in the place (this was around 5:45pm-6pm, and the weather isn't bad enough for them to close early), and as I was gathering my things, I heard Carla making calls to employees telling them to not come in because business was too slow.
I also want to make clear that I left quietly after asking for her name, as she had the right to make that call as the manager. However, I think this was extremely poor customer service, considering everything. Even worse, as I was leaving, I almost slipped and fell on the floor, and saw her snickering at me.
Until this matter is resolved, this McDonalds will no longer be somewhere I'll be spending my money at and the rating will stay at one star. Burger King and Arby's is closer to me, but until now, I've been impressed with McDonald's customer service. I popped up at 10:40, 20 mins before closing, and there was 1 car ahead of me in line at the drive-thru. We both waited at least 10 mins for someone to even SPEAK to us (he was there before I was, so idk how long they were there waiting). Mind you, now it's 10 mins b4 closing. So I back up and park to go inside to order where I can hear some lady saying "our computers are all down, there's nothing I can do" to the customers in the DT. Both of the employees I witnessed were very surprised to see me when I walked in (almost like they forgot to lock the door or something). The young man was sweeping, and he gestured to the female who was talking as if to say, 'umm.. what do I tell her? what should I do?' Until she came over to take my order (8 mins b4 closing). I pulled out my phone, and she RUDELY says, "No mobile orders after 10 o clock." I have to explain to her that it's not a mobile order. I want to use my code, but now it's not working for some reason. I didn't even bother with it. I just ordered what I wanted at the regular menu price, got my food, and left. (Computers seemed to work just fine) (10:59) When I went outside, there were 4 cars in the drive thru that were being told "sorry we're closed" they drove off upset. The employees didn't want to take any more orders before closing time and that isn't right. AND THE KICKER .... MY damn order...
Read moreI've been coming here for a while actually 3 months now and if my order was wrong they would fix it the staff there nice they're always friendly so all you people hating on this McDonald's and their staff come inside and get to know them and don't hate they work their butts off for you and you still complain be grateful not ungrateful because the staff here there always here with a smile and the guy named Michael who cleans up in the lobby and outside he never stops working hard and keeping this place clean because people are lazy and though their trash on the floor outside on the ground when the trash can is 2 feet away again these people work hard and I'm grateful for Michael and his hard work because if it wasn't for him all you lazy people the one on your trash on the floor in the parking lot next to the trash can this would be the worst McDonald's in the east side but there's a good staff here so I'm here to tell you stop hating be grateful God bless and thank you Michael for cleaning up and working...
