On September 2nd I ordered pizza from northern lights Pizza for the first time because my friend recommended it, she spoke highly of it. I ordered pizza from the Hubble location in Des Moines Iowa. When we picked up the pizza they did not give us the taco pack for the taco pizza I had ordered. we get home I go to feed the kids and the taco packs not there, I call back the store they said they'd remake the pizza and deliver it to me, but they wanted the other pizza back, considering I paid $73 and some change I said okay. I let him know that the pizza that we had was disgusting! I ordered the works, I added jalapenos, paid for the jalapenos, there was absolutely no jalapenos on the pizza. I ordered the taco pizza, I ordered a Scooby snack, and customized it. I ordered wings and breadsticks. The pizzas were burnt, the chicken was not cooked all the way, the Scooby snack tasted like the dough had been left out and it was sour, the breadsticks were okay. I called back the store, I asked for the district manager's phone number, they sent me a number that no one answers! there's no way to leave a message, every button that you push to go to a different department, no one answers. I called back the store the gentleman I was talking to said the owner wasn't going to do anything about it. I have done an online contact trying to get someone from northern lights Pizza to contact me to discuss the situation, no one will contact me back. The kids and I did not eat the pizza! we threw all of the pizza all of the chicken and all of the Scooby snacks in the trash!!!!! so I paid almost $75 to trash all the food I got from northern lights Pizza. The customer service is a joke! the employees are rude, the food is terrible, corporate has no interest in the opinions of the customers and I am sorely disappointed! I'm so disappointed that this is the first Yelp review I have ever done because the business is so terrible!!! The friend who recommended Northern Lights Pizza ordered that same night and all of her food was bad also... When you have more than 5 teenagers and younger children who refuse to eat the pizza, there has to be a problem. They chose to eat roman noodles instead!!!!!!! I even ruined my cell phone when I dropped it trying to answer the call from the delivery driver. You make a mistake and somehow it's my fault????????? When I was here in Des Moines, in times past, I would visit the Grand Ave location, and I never had a problem with customer service, so what happened tonight has me flabbergasted. Today (12/3/24), I ordered my food for delivery from the 4211 sw 9th st location. After retrieving my order in the lobby, I went back to my room. There, I noticed the breadsticks did not have parmesan like I ordered. I called NorthernLights, and the manager, Amanda H. was rude and dismissive from the beginning. Some of the things she said were, " No, I put parmesan on the breadsticks", "okay we will bring you another batch, but if there is parmesan found on the original breadsticks sent, you will be banned". The manager (Amanda H. also did not want me to send her a picture of the breadsticks). The breadsticks only had pepper and salt flakes and oil. I waited for nearly 2 hours for the new corrected order of breadsticks, so I called back. I spoke with Amanda H., and she said in a snappy tone, " they will be there any minute" Waited another 30 mins, and I called back, i was put on hold right away, I stayed on hold for 10 minutes, so I hung up. I called right back, and my call was answered right away. However, the person who answered told me that the manager's had left the building to do deliveries. I was told the manager would call me back. Waited another 20 minutes and called back, first thing the employee said was "the manager will call you", I responded, with "I would like corporate's number, my dinner is ruined because I used your location instead of Grand Ave. The employee gave me the corporate number, and then when I asked for her name, she hung up abruptly. An unexpected surprise was it was snowing to beat the band, but the wind was at 35-40 mph. I had just slipped an fell onto my leg so i couldnt pick myself up. I had 1person to help ,but the wayi fell pinned me to the portch. Along came the pizza lights super hero guy and helped me up. He has been our driver since! Thank you to all of NL. Yeah, great driver, I would have froze to death if it wasn't for the delivery guy. Standing out in the freezing ice & snow to take time and assist me. Thank you, and thanks to the owner for his good hiring choices. Update 05/12/2025, Once again we have ordered from N/L many times. Since the 1st review located above and still am 100% pleased with all aspects of this one of a kind pizzeria. Our regular delivery hero had only missed a couple deliveries, he was off those nights, but all drivers have been just as nice and prompt as our hero. Please don't think this is a paid advertisement, because it isn't. This is how our experiences have been. I can be a real unforgiving person when I have problems at a restaurant.
