Went there for lunch today. Usually we go to Pueblo Viejo de México which I HIGHLY recommended. The portions and the food are far better as well as the price. My husband got fajitas they were not very good. Hardly any tortillas and they come in tin foil. At Pueblo Viejo de México they come in a nice container to stay warm and the fajitas come out sizzling. The margaritas were 8$ compared to 4$ at Pueblo Viejo de México but the same size. The queso was small and not very good. I ordered the 4 enchilada combo. The cheese enchilada was unmelted and pulled like a mozzarella stick. Not in a good way. It was like someone wrapped up a cheese stick and nuked it in the oven. The meat was all very unseasoned and dry. Seemed old. Food came out WAY too fast. This dish usually comes with a side of rice and beans but it didn’t. I ordered a side and there were….peas and carrots in the rice. Which is usually a bad sign. The enchilada sauce tasted indentical to Chef Boyardee Canned tomato sauce.
two margaritas, two orders of queso, four enchiladas plate and fajitas would of cost 40$ at pueblos. It was almost 70$ here. Absolutely terrible food. Terrible price. If I were you I would simply go to Pueblo Viejo de México. Save your money and your stomach. We should have known as it was nearly empty during lunch time on a weekday.
Unrelated to the food The decor was terrible. The booth was...
Read moreWe stopped for dinner here tonight on the recommendation of someone we met. I should never have listened to him because it was a huge disappointment. It didn’t taste like Mexican food and everything was so bland and unseasoned.
I ordered the #9 combo plate. It was two enchiladas and came with rice and beans. My husband ordered the Burrito Western which also came with rice and beans. We both agreed that the beans were nice and creamy and the only good thing about our food. The chicken in my enchiladas and in my husband’s burrito was completely unseasoned. It tasted like boiled chicken that had been shredded and put into tortillas. It was completely white-bread and unauthentic. Other Mexican restaurants that we love have the chicken seasoned with spices and it has so much flavor. But this chicken was very bland; as was the rice. It had peas and carrots in it, too. What’s up with that? The enchilada sauce that was on top of both of our dishes was also flavorless. It tasted like tomato sauce that came out of a can.
The only positive was that the food came out fast. I don’t think we waited ten minutes for it. But I would rather have waited longer if it meant better tasting food. Our server seemed kind of grumpy and unfriendly, too. I do not recommend this place if you want great-tasting...
