2 Neighbor's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in DeSoto

So my husband the INSTA FOODIE watcher decided that we should try this restaurant (6/28/25) now lets make it clear also I LIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF DENTON, TEXAS Soo we had a heck of a drive especially counting traffic. We go to the MANSFIELD location first TIK TOK MADNESS like wrapped around the inside of the building so we leave and we think MAYBE that why u cannot order online at this one since it’s packed! So I get online see you can order at DESOTO and order for pickup SPENT $76 and I received my confirmation text (@5:55pm) that my food would be ready at 6:20pm which was fine it would be ready for sure I THOUGHT by the time I got there….RIGHT?! Wellll not the case 🫠, I get there at around 6:15pm I go ahead and wait actually until 6:20pm and then stroll in to get my food. I had never been here before so I had to look at booth numbers and I see the booth for 2 Neighbors, walk up there was a young lady on her phone and a sign that said SOLD OUT THANKS FOR THE LOVE!( AND CONGRATS ON THAT AS TIKTOK WAS OBVIOUSLY TIK-TOKING) Seeing as I ordered online I smile and look back at her and she stares at me in disbelief that I GUESS I Hadn’t WALKED OFF?! And I said Yall are sold out today she replies Yes , then I say well I did an online order, again stares at me and says oh well umm hold on yells to a guy in the back who was cleaning up. He says hello and asks how he can help me , and I tell him the same thing . He then says ok your name? I said it to him and he said oh yea.. you didnt get a call from us? (OBVIOUSLY 🙄 I didn’t) but I say no I didnt, but my phone is in the truck and is there an issue? He says oh we tried to call and let you know we cannot fulfill your order and have issued a refund to your card , but give it 3-5 days and it should be good or it may also depend on your bank. DISAPPOINTED and knowing how mad I was for this LONG DRIVE I walk out. I come to the truck look at my phone and had actually JUST GOTTEN A CALL WHILE I WAS WALKING IN THERE?! SOOO MAKE IT MAKE SENSE?!?! TODAY IS NOW JULY 11 NO REFUND AND YESSS MY BANK IS WORKING IN A DISPUTE AS I KNEW KNEW KNEWWWW IT WAS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE. Sooooo in saying ALL this I will NOT BE GOING BACK to this location, and since I had the proof of the REFUND that never showed up but went from PENDING (which I definitely thought it would just FALL OFF as usual)TO CLEARING MY ACCOUNT is now under investigation by my bank as FRAUD since I did NOT receive anything BACK but a Sorry we are sold out . RESTAURANTS have got to do better with the customer service!!! This review was left because I was promised a refund the RECEIPT SAYS REFUND AND STILL NOTHING! Good luck with online orders or AT THIS POINT PAY CASH & CALL TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT...

The first time I had 2 neighbors was through a friend. It was the catfish and fries and it was A-MAZING!!! The catfish was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. It was also perfectly seasoned, just spicy enough for me to enjoy (I got medium). The fries were also cooked and seasoned perfectly. And it was sooo filling!!!

The second time I had it (different day), I ordered the same thing, catfish and fries, because it was just that good! However, I was disappointed to find the fillets were smaller and cooked too hard, so it wasn’t flaky on the inside like the first time. Also, the fries were hard. So I went to speak with the manager Ce-Ce directly later that day, because it was so different from the first time. The manager was very open to listen and receptive of the feedback I had given. She didn’t get offended or upset, which showed me that she truly cared about her product (food) AND customers, which I loved because this is VERY RARE these days. So of course I went back (a different day) and got catfish, chicken tenders and fries, and EVERYTHING was seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY!! And it was EVEN BETTER this time only because I didn’t wait to eat my food so it was HOT & FRESH!!

Because of this I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you order from 2 Neighbors Hot Chicken. Most places overcharge you for small portions and barely speak when they see you, but the people here acknowledge you AND you get a good portion at a reasonable price. That’s a WIN WIN for me! (I had already started eating before taking the picture attached. It comes with more food than shown in the pic.)

This place is a hidden gem located in the “Grow Desoto Marketplace”. If you’re wondering if you should order, I encourage you to do so. You’ll be glad you did. The only thing I regret is not finding out...

What can I say this was a chicken eating experience. The hot 🔥 things on their menus are the chicken sandwich, the chicken tenders even the fried fish. Today I kept it simple I got the chicken sandwich with coleslaw inside some macaroni and cheese. Also they had eight piece chicken tenders and I got it medium. Medium was pretty hot to me 🥵 I want it bottled water I actually went to other places there looking for some bottled water but I wound up coming back getting a bottle of water and Kool-Aid 🔴🤪 First macaroni and cheese was mid-level at best. It was not as good as the person is counter said it was but I did mix it with some fries and chicken tenders and the sauce lol 🤣 the chicken sandwich was very tasty with that coleslaw it was top level. The chicken tenders were well done that crust on it with that sauce was a little bit hotter than I thought it was but I ate them all. And washing it down with that delicious Kool-Aid. My blood sugar cause me to start an instant 24-hour fast. Plus I went to the park and walked at least a mile. Overall this is definitely a place that I would like to come back and try more things and probably bring friends and family too in the future. This food Hall has always been a hidden gem in DeSoto for very interesting and delicious food choices. Please take your time and come check them out...
