After driving many hours and an impending storm, my husband and I were ecstatic to see an exit with a Waffle House, a decades long love....right! When we pulled up, the store appeared to be somewhat busy but arent they all? We easily found a booth along the bar. Patrons began leaving, still no waitress. The manager cashed out the register and as he walked by, he asked if we had been waited on. We said no and he hollered at the waitresses at the other end of the bar.....we waited still. Then an older gentleman scrubbing the kitchen floor asked if we had ever been waited on, again, we replied "no" and he said he would get a waitress as well. Still we waited. Now, normally, we would have said oh, hell now and left but we were trying to wait out the coming heavy rain....so we sat and waited some more, then some more. FINALLY, about 20 minutes our waitress took what was supposed to be our drink order and we went on and ordered our food as well. Then, the second round of waiting came. About 15-20 minutes later, we finally got our tea....and our 6....yes, lierally 6 ice cubes. We just looked at each other and figured she would be back. When we got our food, our waitress asked if we needed anything and my husband asked for mayonaise....again we waited. He finally got up and walked to the register as asked for his mayo. Both of our plates had meat that was undercooked, his more than mine, yet our waitress never returned. Now, by this time there were only 5 occupied tables, including ourselves! We waited a few minutes and agreed that it was best for us to just walk to the register , pay out and leave. In 25+ years of eating at Waffle House' all over, I have NEVER had an experience like this. And would like to offer "Lamar", the manager some advise....teach your employees some customer service! Nearly every employee, minus the cook, we saw standing around and visiting...including you, sir. Definitely will NEVER visit this...
Read moreI came to eat at this Waffle House and everything went wrong from the start. The server stood in front of us without saying a word, then cleared his throat and went to spit behind the counter on the rug right in front of us before finally taking our order. I asked for a simple sandwich without cheese and a hot tea. The server seemed confused and didn’t know if they even served hot tea. After checking the menu and asking the cook, they still struggled to figure it out. I explained that every time I order hot tea at Waffle House, I’m given a mug of hot water and a tea bag, nothing complicated.
Even after clarifying, they still acted like they didn’t know how to “make tea,” and both the server and cook openly made fun of my order, which we could hear clearly. This was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful.
What makes it worse is that the restaurant wasn’t even busy, only three other customers were there. Despite that, the service and attitude from both the server and the cook were unacceptable. Definitely the worst service I’ve experienced at a...
Read more4 stars up until the female waitress just asked for a tip on our To-Go order which normally I Tip Waffle House for BUT this specific Waffle House didn’t take over the phone orders just online or in person & I was driving on a road trip on a time limit so this was a real inconvenience and for that matter I did not tip. If the waitress (who by the way doesn’t have any tables because it’s window pickup only .. and is just taking the food from the cook to the window) could actually bother themselves with taking an over the phone order I would have more than gladly tipped for taking my order. Furthermore when I informed her about not having any cash she rudely reminded me “well NEXT time you order from Waffle House keep in mind we work for tips” NEVER Ordering at this Waffle House again, I’d rather go hungry than be hassled about you not getting a tip from a customer you didn’t take an order, a payment, clean up after or anything from.. DO BETTER ,...
