I have NEVER been so disappointed in a stay in my life. I don’t usually complain and didn’t intend to even though we experienced many issues with extremely loud neighbors partying, struggling to communicate with staff because most couldn’t speak English fluently (no judgement but it makes asking questions really hard) and a loud interstate. I wanted to make the most out of our trip to Dallas. But, after what happened to us by the end of our stay, I had to warn others. ||My spouse developed allergies after we got here and we went to get a steam machine. The next day we got a call saying we had a smoking alert. Both of us are nonsmokers. They said someone would come check our room and we asked them to please do so. Two Hispanic people came to our room and stood in our doorway speaking Spanish and walked out. They never even came all the way into the room. We heard NOTHING else about it. I asked the front desk attendant the following morning if everything was ok or if we needed to move rooms because of the faulty detector and they said that everything was okay. Then, we received a $100.00 charge out of the blue. We went to the front desk every day for three days asking what this was about. We kept being told “someone will call you and sort this out.” No one ever did. One girl tried to help and said “If they thought you were actually smoking you would be kicked out, so I’m sure it will be returned to you.” This was the first time anyone mentioned it being a smoking fee. Finally, I tracked down the front desk manager, Terry, and she sent a front desk attendant up to our room, Sai, and he went down and told her our room was fine and didn’t smell like smoke and neither did we. He checked all around and in the bathroom. She said she would talk to some people and sort things out and let us know. We explained the steam machine and even told her we researched online and it does happen to set off smoke alarms. Ours also has essential oils in it. She never contacted us back but we did find her right after she clocked out the next day. She told us that she would remove the $100 charge if we could “recreate” the alarm. We had packed everything up already to get home and I honestly was super offended after spending over $1,000.00 for our stay here. Our hometown was being destroyed by floods and tornados so we were stuck here. ||We will be coming back to Dallas often and will NEVER stay here again. There are several other hotels near this one that look very nice. La Quinta and Comfort Inn to name a couple. Save yourself from being wrongly accused and dismissed by this hotel. Read moreIf I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Firstly, my scheduled stay dates were for March 26-28th. I booked my stay through priceline. I paid upfront and was given a confirmation number. When I arrived at the hotel on the 26th to check in I was greeted by the front desk clerk who was very pleasant. When she began the check in procedure she was able to find the reservation but it was showing that I still needed to pay. I then proceeded to show the confirmation from priceline that displayed I had already paid in full. At this time the GM, which of whom was was working the front counter as well came to assist. I was told that since i booked through a third party that they were suppose to send a confirmation to the hotel to establish that payment had already been received. Again, this is an issue between the hotel and the third party, not me. But, because I was trying to make the check in process go smoother than what had been going and to not ruin the surprise for my mother's 50th birthday I agreed to also call priceline to see what the issue was. I called priceline, which of whom had an hour plus wait to gather some clarification. At this point we've wasted nearly an hour trying to check in, making us late for other plans. We decided to proceed with our scheduled plans but before leaving I insured that my mother's room would not be given away since I had already paid for my stay. I was assured that the reservation was secured. 2 hours later I received a call from priceline, who in turn called the hotel and cleared everything up. I was assured that we were okay to check in. After finishing our scheduled outing my mother tried to check into the hotel. By this time the dayshift clerk and GM had left for the day and the nightshift staff was on duty. My mother was met with the revelation that the hotel had sold out of rooms. My mother tried to explain to the nightshift staff what occurred during the day, which should of been done by the daytime staff. The nightshift staff was rude and almost seemed as if she was not listening. Its 1am at this point my mother calls me and I try to explain what happened. I received the response of "if you all were here during the day why didn't you all check in?" I was infuriated at this point. It's 1am, my mother has no room because its been sold, and I've paid money for a room that I can't gain access to. Come to find out that the hotel had over booked its facility. I immediately contacted the GM via email because I'm wondering why wasn't what occurred during the day not passed along to the nightshift staff? I also contacted priceline. I received a response from the GM the next morning, March 27th to say that she was investigating the manner. Safe to say I haven't heard from her since🙄. Don't waste...
