My experience was horrible and a nightmare for my 13yr old and her friends. March 10, 2018 was the 1st day my daughter and her friends experienced racism. This was my 3rd year having my daughter a sleepover at the hotel for her birthday. When I came in the hotel I checked in and let the front desk know that I was doing a party for my daughter and that they would see people coming and going but only 6 people were staying the night as they can only do. Well a hour later we got a noise complaint, well it was only 3 girls in the room who was sitting on the beds on there phone as teenagers do!!! Well come to find out the manager followed all my guest up stairs to see what room they were going to. She then went back down to the front desk and being to say how she was going to evict us in front of other people but she didn’t know that my daughters God mother was standing down there waiting to come up while she was talking about us and putting us out. My daughters God mother began to tell her that she was was going to the room and would let us know what was going on. Well the then 5 girls went down to the pool QUIETLY with my daughters step mother only for the manager to keep looking I’m at the pool to see what was going on. Maybe 30min later my niece mother called and said that they wouldn’t let her come up and that the manager said you can take her up but y’all are going to be coming right back down because I’m about to call the police and have them escorted out! Mind you nobody was in the room because the girls were down at the pool. I then came down the stairs to ask what the problem was and she stated that she wanted us to leave because we were too loud and I told her that I understood and after the 1st phone call of her saying she got a noise complaint we asked them to CONTINUE being quiet. She then said that wasn’t going to work and we needed to leave. I let her know that if I was going to leave I needed a refund. She then stated why would I give y’all a refund when you’ve made a mess of the room and I asked her to tell me how we’ve made a mess of the room and she said she didn’t have to explain that and she was calling the police. She then stormed off and slammed the door and proceeded to make the call. I then got my daughter and her friends out the pool QUIETLY, took them up stairs to pack their things QUIETLY. They then came down stairs to wait in the lobby QUIETLY for us to finish gathering the party things. My daughter and her friends watched 4 police cars pull up with 2 officers in each car. They came to the room that was clean and asked us to leave which we were already doing. The police then helped us take our stuff downstairs and I asked 1 officer did it really take all of y’all to come put us out the room? He then stated you should have heard how the call came in!!!! I was so disgusted to have been treated like we were unruly animals with no...
Read moreThis place has gone to the dogs, I stayed here several times over the past 5-6 years. It once was a nice place to stay and close to relatives who live in Desoto. Booked here for a four night stay over the Thanksgiving holiday, requested a suite for 3 adults. The room was a four wall square with no partition for a small measure of privacy and 1 TV, unlike any suite I have stayed in before. I went to front desk to request a different kind of suite. The young at front desk was ice cold, she has no recommendations or suggestions. Her name is Whitney. She stated all the rooms was like that. OH and the hotel was NOT full. I asked her if we could trade the suite for 2 separate rooms for the same price 0f about $940 for the four night stay in the suite. She said no I would have to pay full price for the one night in the suite and then upgrade to two rooms. I thought it was odd that the parking lot seemed mostly empty when we drove up. She was so cold, icy and disinterested I began recording our conversation. I ask for the managers number, and she stated he would not talked with me until Monday morning. This was Wednesday night. When we got off the elevator near ice machine there was an overflowing trash can and trash bags on floor, a very unpleasant sight on arrival. I ask the young lady if they would empty trash, she stated they would get to it, about 2-3 hours later I ask her again about the unsightly trash and poor sanitation near an ice machine. She just repeated we will get to it. We started with 1/2 roll of toilet paper in bathroom, no extra anywhere in room, in a suite for 3 adults. I have never experience that before. She invited me to check out, stated I would still owe for one night. I started calling other hotels so we could move, there were no vacancies as this was the night before Thanksgiving. We resigned to just deal with the situation. The staffing was very poor, wait for towels or toilet paper was long or nonexistent. On Thanksgiving morning guest who requested clean towels were told no clean towels were available until after 11 AM. I could go on but I think you get the point. If you want cheap and shoddy service go to motel 6, chances are it might be an improvement...
Read moreI arrived with my family to the hotel for a two night stay. After checking in and dropping off our bags, we ran to the store for food. When we came back there was a loud noise coming from our restroom (I have video proof). I also discovered our fridge wasn't working and the knob was broken off. I called down to complain & was informed they would call maintenance. I went downstairs & spoke to front desk, showed them the video and expressed my concern about the fridge. They told me the fridge was new, but we could keep our food in their fridge. That the noise was air in the pipes & would go away. After taking down our food, we went to the pool to get away from the noise. There was no towels, it was dirty & the pool was ice cold. After a short time of watching my son shiver, we left back to the room. The noise was still going so I called back down, it is now 7pm. They called & said maintenance had been called. About 730 they called and said maintenance would not be coming in & asked if we would like someone to come up to look. I said yes and I expressed my concern because my son would soon need to sleep. About 745 we received a call that because of the noise & being fully booked they would send us to another hotel and it would be comped. We packed, went to front desk, asked if we needed anything, they said no, the other hotel was waiting. Get to the other location, check in, sign the paperwork & get into out new room. Its now 815 pm, 4.5 hours after our arrival. Next day go out with my son while my husband is in a meeting & return to find my room locked along with no access to our stuff. Apparently Hampton only booked us for one night, despite our 2 night reservation, didn't tell us this or even bother to say, we comped you for one night, what would you like to do for the rest of the trip. Here we were with no room hours away from home, thanks to Hampton, and their lack of communication and poor customer service. The GM claims we knew yet I never...
