Waitress brought our order, sat it down, NEVER came back to the table again. Meanwhile she went to ALL of the other tables multiple times. When we went up to the counter to let them know we were thirsty, we needed drinks. She said OK. Then went again and waited on several other tables and NEVER brought them. We asked to complain to the manager, something we hardly if ever do. There were two Cooks in the back, peeping around the counter, getting the feeling they were perhaps foreign-born, did not speak the language. So they sent the only other staff there besides the two silent Cooks and the inconsiderate Waitress, the NEW STAFF, who did not know any protocols for dissatisfied customers. She kept whispering, nodding, babbling incoherently; she was too new and too nervous to help. We had to carry our plate up to the bar and box our own carry-outs. We finally ended up getting our drinks in to-go cups. Since we were the only interracial couple there, my husband is White, and I'm Black, what else are we supposed to think except she has a problem with our "book cover,?" Both Waitresses were African-American and ALL other Customers present were African-American and nobody else was ignored. The only other diversity were the two Owners/Cooks, who as I said before were hiding behind the counter, not uttering a single word. The worst part of the experience was that the Waitress NEVER apologized. She kept arguing and defending herself and being belligerent, but ZERO customer service and ZERO respect. Not a single "I'm sorry for that, sorry for your wait, I wish your experience had been better, how can I make it better, pardon me," NOTHING, not one single "Please," "Thanks," "Sorry." "I'm in customer service and I would not ever treat the public, the way you have treated us today," I told the rude Waitress, while she was boldly yelling in my face: "I wasn't expecting a tip. I don't care. I don't need it. You didn't give me a chance to do that. I'm busy. I'm working. How come blah blah blah...." This is the very first time I have ever dined inside a restaurant and not left a generous tip. My husband & I don't even go out unless we can also afford the gratuity as well. Forget 10 or 15 % he and I usually tip somewhere between 20 & 50% depending on food, service, atmosphere, attitude, etc. We have dined at that establishment multiple times before, always enjoyed the staff and food , always left a large tip,...
Read moreThe only reason I put any stars is because I need to write this review. This is my 2nd time ordering from this restaurant, yesterday I ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad for the second time.. The first time the was very good and I knew what came on it.. But yes I received a HEAD OF LETTUCE for ) $17 and it was delivered by Uber Eats. So I called to talk to a manager and the lady explained that they changed shift and that was the day shift.. This is what brings me to write this review today. I just got off the phone with a young lady called me Boo, Bae and saying she was the manager, but I explained to her that I knew she wasn’t because a manager wouldn’t talk like that.. But the funny thing was that manger Tony was standing near and wouldn’t get on the phone to talk.. But the bad part of this all is, I’m at home and can’t drive to even go up there do to I just had surgery on my leg and can not walk.. But now you see why black people don’t support black businesses.. I will never again order from the place.. To Tony, it should not matter that I ordered through Uber Eats, It’s about how professionally you ran your business and treat your customers, for they can come back to support you… (...
Read moreNot sure if the waitress was having a bad day or what, but she seemed as if we were bothering her. She acted as it was a favor giving us the breakfast special at 10:57,even though the actual special ended at 11. She tried to set the water on the table and just walk away. The end of the table was dirty. The waitress also acted as if us asking for the meat that we were being charged for later on was a favor. I ordered grits and never got them. She seemed to have an attitude when we asked to refill one drink. The other two drinks were water, she came to the table before us with the pitcher and turned around. Never once asked us if we wanted a refill on our cups that were almost empty. When we were then getting up to leave, this was the only time she rushed over to assist our table. When paying the bill was only $9 giving us back $10(two 5’s in change). I think she expected a tip due to the fact she was saying a whole bunch of stuff under her breathe and moving her hands around. She continued to say stuff while we were walking out. I don’t think I would ever return to this...
