On Saturday, June 14th, I stopped by the D Motown Deli to try their corbeef sandwich. I bought 4 cornbeef sandwiches and two cornbeef egg rolls for myself and my family. When I arrived home, I took half of the cornbeef sandwich and took two bites. Then I tried a few bites of the egg rolls. This is where things got really weird. I started feeling really sick about 30 minutes or so later. I started throwing up. I didn't think at the time to consider that it was the food. Over time, the vomiting became more frequent, and my bowls started to run also. I had extreme diarrhea while throwing up in a trash can in my bathroom. I threw up so much so that acid was the only thing that would come from my stomach. This went on from about 5 pm until about 5 am the next morning. My wife and daughter came home later that night witnessing me throw up several more times. They asked me was I ok and both went into the kitchen and ate the sandwiches that I had bought earlier. By this time, it was 11pm. My daughter took a few bites of her sandwich, and my wife took a bite also. One hour after my daughter ate some of her sandwich, she'd began throwing up also. I then thought it was the sandwiches. I told both of them to stop eating the food. My wife at the time was fine. Early the next morning, she started throwing up also. My first reaction was to notify D Motown of my experience and warn them of what took place. They were closed on Sunday. I called on Monday to report what happened over the weekend. I can't remember the lady name who took the call. She then took my name and number and stated that the owner would call me back so I could speak to what took place. I didn't hear anything back that day, so I called back the following day. This is where things went way left. The manager stated that the owner wasn't available and, in fact, would be gone for the foreseeable future due to being out of town. I then asked who could I speak to about this serious matter. The manager then became nasty and rude, stating that they sold thousands of sandwiches that day, and there was no way that I could've gotten sick there. She also stated that if I didn't go to the hospital and got my stool checked, how could I prove I got sick from their restaurant. Let me tell anyone that will listen to me, I have NEVER FELT OR BEEN THAT SICK BEFORE IN MY LIFE!! that food was definitely contaminated. The manager never offered to make it right or refund my 85.00 that I wasted there. The arrogance of the manager was unbelievable! They could care less about the customer. They believe that because they're so busy every day, they don't need or want my business. Please, folks, there are way better cornbeef sandwich places than this. The customer is the backbone of any business. They're making people sick from their food and don't care. Some might think it's my problem and not theirs. Keep in mind I was lucky. What if it's your child or an elderly relative. They might not be that lucky. I hope this post helps someone. Eat at D Motown at your own risk. Food poisoning is real! Search the comments below for other testimonials of people getting sick eating here. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! This was my first...

The best corned beef I've tried in Metro Detroit I have tried every corned beef spot in Detroit from Lou's to every Coney Island to bread basket and other establishments wheat and rye bars taverns whatever I've been eating corned beef for a long time always loved corned beef but most of all pastrami . hands down The corned beef is very good was not dry one bit like some establishments mainly Lou's deli I ordered a large corned beef and a half and half half pastrami half corned beef American and swiss sauerkraut on the side they're chill is really good I would love to have the recipe The corned beef is excellent the pastrami is mediocre I haven't taste decent pastrami since the early 2000s really would like to visit krazts in New York and get some of their delicious looking pastrami but one day maybe for now this is my go-to spot recommend definitely to try their chili I have ordered chili from this place and it not your regular Coney Island low end restaurant chili it is very flavorful this is not your average chili this is definitely handmade chili wish it had more spice I like a little kick also to note the coleslaw to me was delicious I would definitely love to know the recipe. if you order the corned beef sandwich I would recommend if my bread was toasted if there's a large quantity of meat if there's not it's perfectly fine to get it untoasted this will be my fourth visit and I will continue coming but would love if they worked on a good quality pastrami and the bread being sliced a little thicker just a little for the larger sandwiches love the customer service love the atmosphere could be better location but that will not prevent me from coming back and I'm sure once you try this you will continue to eat at this establishment also!!! 313 BEST...

I continuously see this restaurant on social media, so I decided to give them a try. Another word of mouth hyped restaurant, so I gotta check'em out. I'll give them a solid 3 after my visit. My order was incorrect when I got home, so check your bag. That's the reason for the 3 for service rating.

Anyway, corn beef was too tender. And that is such a thing, in my opinion. It's similar to falling off the bone ribs, which I really don't care for as much. I like a little chew to my food (meat). This corn beef was like chewing a stick of thin gum. No matter how big the bite out the corn beef was. You were done in 2 chews. It's like what is this? It's like you're not even chewing food or beef. I didn't like that. The texture wasn't it for me.

I've never been a fan of overly tender food. Even the bread was too mushy "soft". With my corn beef, I like a little more of a solid bun. So its a mushy bun and chewing gum beef. Not the best mix

The taste of the beef was ok as well. Salty 1 to 10 and 10 being the highest. 5.5 6ish. You get that hit of salt from the very first bite.

Deserts are an A+. Cakes, Cobler A1 I'd come back just to grab some cheesecake if I'm in the area. That's the only reason that I'll revisit this place again.

Final verdict- Corn beef.... Not...
