Grandys Coney Island — Restaurant in Detroit

What is still on the menu is not correct, they have upped their prices and stopped selling items and never removed it from the menu. When I called to ask about item prices the woman was super rude and said, “ what do you want from me! “ I said a response without attitude maybe would be nice and some customer service skills too! I asked about a side salad she said we don’t have that! I said I get it all the time, she said lady we stopped selling that so is there anything else you need bc I have more people to serve. I said yes there is treat them just like you’d like to be treated when you call to order food! They don’t deserve to be talked to like your talking to me right now! And im sure you wouldn’t like it either! And you’ll lose customers the way you are hiking up your prices and being so rude to who pays your paychecks! Then I came to the store and she didn’t even greet me she said your the one who called me asking about the tossed salad right!? I said yes. She said I told you we didn’t have them! I continued to order and she gave me a price the man my card wouldn’t go through bc the sales tax on the card. And she got irritated with me. I made it eight and took my order and left! I won’t be eating here any more, YOUR NOT A FIVE STAR...

I don’t usually ever have problems when I come here but tonight, the girl at the window was extremely rude to me and my mom. She asked did my mom want a deluxe and when we asked what a deluxe was she literally huffed and puffed and said “oh my god” like we were bothering her or something by asking a simple question. I hope she doesn’t service me anymore.

Update:

I still hate this place. A couple of years ago, I came here with a friend and while we were in his car going through the drive-thru, I returned to find a man going through my own car. An employee was outside casually talking to him. As soon as I ran toward my car, the employee ran back inside, and the man jumped in a vehicle and sped away. I even wrote a police report and requested the camera footage, but the restaurant ignored me. That was enough for me to decide I would never spend money here again.

From time to time, I still end up picking up DoorDash orders from this location, and nothing has changed. The service is just as bad—orders are never ready on time, and the overall experience is consistently...

Update: this place has gone downhill fast. Do they even bother to cook the fries anymore, or just sort of dunk them in the oil for a second? The wait is always super long now and the food is undercooked, always. I've never seen a restaurant that has such high turnover, a constant new cashier and cook equals bad management. Bad management or bad ownership is what's to blame here.

Honestly this is my favorite Coney on the east side and in my top five of Coney's across all metro Detroit. They have some of the best traditional french toast I've ever had. Their burgers are actually juicy. I LOVE their fries, something that should be easy but we all know it's not. You treat the ladies at the register nice and they will be nice to you.
