Err'Thang Smoked — Restaurant in Detroit

I really didn't like the food or service here. The first time I came the gentleman who cooks the food, (I'm assuming he is the owner or at least the manager), was visibly irritated that we had a Groupon and didn't seem to want to give certain items for the Groupon. Then eventually said he had ribs after telling us that he didn't. He also wouldn't let me use both Groupons even though the one my husband had was gifted by me and we were gonna pay separately. On top of that what we did get was not good at all. But unfortunately I bought two Groupons at the same time so I decided to use it today since it was about to expire. Honestly I should have just lost the Groupon because all I did was pay more money for bad service again.

This time they weren't out of everything but we're out of some of the main things I was planning to get. Food wasn't good again, he seemed bothered again about Groupon and insulted me this time. I'm overweight but in no way do I appear pregnant, yet he asks 4 times if I'm pregnant. I purposely ignored him every time until the other worker asked me did I hear him. I said yes and that it was rude to assume someone is pregnant and left. I'm seriously never returning here. Like at least the food could be good so you'll ignore the rest but no the food was trash. Also I purposely didn't get meat this time because it wasn't worth the cost last time. So yea never returning, no thank you.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Now, I'm going share with you my family's DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE with ,Thang Smoked.. My family needed some Macaroni and Cheese for a surprise birthday party. My cousin had just got home from her cancer surgery and we wanted to do something nice. So we called Err'Thang Smoked. A lady on the phone INSURED us that their $100 pan of Mac & Cheese would be enough for 40 people, so we trusted her. Now for context, my Dad is a caterer and I've worked with him on countless occasions. When my aunt brought the pan into the house and we saw the size of the pan, I KNEW for a fact that this UNDERCOOKED Cookie Sheet size portion of MAC & CHEESE I'm looking at, (which they claim is worth $100), is not even going to be enough for 10 people, let alone 40. So we refused to accept it. We told my aunt to take it back. Then, on her way back, my aunt called the place and said we were expecting more Mac and Chesse. THE LADY HUNG UP AND, DID NOT ANSWER MY AUNT'S REPEATED CALLS. When my aunt returned to Err'Thang Smoked, they refused to give her a refund. She had to argue with the worker then with the owner to get customer service. Also the order was supposed to be ready at 1:30. My aunt got there to pick it up around 2:30, and it wasn't even ready. First time patronizing this restaurant. I placed and paid for my order at 5:11p and I didn't leave until 6:50p. The wait was ridiculous! There were so many problems with my order. When I placed the order the yams were in stock but after waiting over an hour they no longer had yams to fulfill our order. The greens and fried rice that we wanted were also not in stock. They overcharged me for upsizing the sides and after I complained she only gave me $5 out of the register when I should have gotten $7. The bbq sauce was not in the bag as we requested for it to be on the side. While we were waiting the lady at the counter gave everyone in the restaurant a free lemonade to apologize for the wait. However, I paid for 3 lemonade with my order that I did not receive. I had to go back to the counter at least 4 times to get my order correct until finally I just left. I would have loved to give 5 stars since it's black owned but they have a lot of work to do. Also, I must mention that I patronized this business after a shoutout from the Hungry Black Man.I feel like their food was presented to them in top notch fashion because they knew they would be reviewed on social media.
