Sloppy chops is located on 6 mile in Detroit. I went here on Saturday night at 7pm. They accept reservations and it’s an automatic 18% gratuity on each check. They have a bar area with TVs. The service was horrible. We ordered sloppy chops (they were cold and expensive), smothered potatoes (tasty) and surf and turf Alfredo pasta (cold and mediocre). Sides are À la carte. We waited a total of 45 min to be seated (30 min past our rsvp time). A party of 15 walked out after waiting 2 hours for food and other drinks that was ordered. I seen the frustration on their face when we walked in. Another party of 13 walked out because they had been waiting an hour to be seated. They also had reservations and their table was already set up. Others walked out because they had been waiting to order and never got their drinks. We were still being hopeful. When we finally got seated. We ordered our food and drinks right away. Another couple that came in 30 min after us ordered their food and drinks after us. They got their food and drinks before us. After our waitress gave them ALL their food. She quickly went past us without stopping and said “Your food should be out soon”. We waited 30 min to get 1 drink. This was after I asked a different wait staff about my drink. Because our waitress was no where to be found. The other wait staff went and got my drink and it was wrong. We waited an hour to get our food. We were very close to walking out as well. Our food was cold when we got it. The waitress was not apologetic at all and basically ignored us. Although it was not her fault it was not enough wait staff. I thought she could hv been more apologetic and displayed a better attitude. I assume she was stressed and didn’t care because she was automatically getting her undeserved tip. It was people picking up orders and they were wrong. Those people also waited a long time. A few people told them about the dirty bathroom. No one went and cleaned it. I think some of the staff that I seen doing nothing could have helped with drinks, bring out food, take orders etc. Not just manage and sit more people. A lot of people were turned away because of the wait time. I really hate giving bad reviews and hope they get it together. My experience was very unpleasant. It was not worth spending over 2 hours in a cold restaurant and almost $200 later. They are open Mon-Wed 11am-10pm, Thurs. 11am-2am and Fri.-Sun. 11am-12am

Went there last night with 2 friends. They charged $10 at the door (as if they are a club). It was extremely loud (because they had karaoke set up right next to the entrance) and the man at the door had to yell in my face to explain the cover fee. (It was cash or cashapp, and the door fee only applied to people who weren’t buddies with the staff, which was obvious.) They told my friend that she was too late to sign up for karaoke while letting the same 3 people sing off-key with microphones that were excessively loud… like concert-volume loud, for the entirety of our visit. We had to wait nearly 40 minutes to simply put a order in and 20 more to order drinks. We ordered at 10:45 and when we finally received our food, it was 12:15. The food was ICE COLD, and we were served with plastic cups and plastic forks(that we had request as our server provided no silverware). Really? It was completely unreasonable given the prices. Peep the picture attached. Is that not the sorriest Old Fashioned you’ve ever seen? It was $15. 😑 All the while creepy men (who appeared to be employees) walked around AIMING THEIR PHONE CAMERAS in our faces. 1.) I DID NOT CONSENT to being filmed and was obviously uncomfortable. 2.) I was not having a good time at the establishment due to the poor/slow service, the noise, and the hookah smoke (which was clouding the whole room). So having a camera shoved in my face was adding insult to injury. And the BATHROOMS?! The stall I used in the ladies’ room was atrocious. Black gunk coated the floor, the toilet paper wasn’t on the holder so it fell into the gunk. EW! There was NO soap and NO paper towel. Last night was a waste of money and a really cute fit. I wanted to support but my experience… disappointed isn’t the word… The first word in their name is a better descriptor. Sloppy! Sloppy setup, sloppy customer service, sloppy bathrooms, sloppy food. I will not be back. Wow.

I decided to dine in on Mothers Day with family and friends. The restaurant had a nice amount of customers, but it was not packed. We arrived at 3 PM and got seated in 15 mins once the entire party arrived. All 12 of us ordered at 3:30 and we did not get our food until 6:15. Our server name was Iesha and she lacked empathy and barely checked on our table. She kept giving us excuses that they were short staffed, and it was out of her control instead of apologizing and accommodating us right then and there. Luckily, the bar manager came over and tried to do her due diligence by giving us a few free drinks which was well appreciated. Once we got done eating in about 20 minutes, it took almost an hour for us to check out due to them trying to charge us for a bottle that we never ordered and coming to a resolution for getting a discount on our bill due to the wait. I believe this restaurant has potential but the owners need to give the employees a customer service class and provide a plan for issues like this, so the workers are not confused on how to turn a bad situation good. Side note: There was no soap in the bathroom

Horrible experience horrible experience horrible experience!!!!

I had what was supposed to be my 53rd birthday celebration there. It was scheduled for a party of 15. When I arrived the inside was completely empty, kind of a red flag but I ignored it. The tables were not set for my party, the bartender Mikela requested assistance from the cook to set up When he came to the front he told me that I was going to need to tip him because that wasn't his job. The night only got worse. My reservation were a week in advance, yet they were not prepared for my party The bartender started she wouldn't have any help, the reservation were for 7 and everyone arrived on time. We didn't get water with lemon until after 8pm. She gave us a drink menu but she wasnt able to make half of the drinks on the menu because they did not have the liquor to make the drinks. On the food menu they didn't have the steaks or the lobster tail and something else. I ordered smothered turkey chops because I don't eat beef or pork. At 930ish some of the food came out. There was a splash of gravy on my turkey chops, I complained because they were not smothered, the asparagus were sent back because they were cold and I never received the smothered potatoes. Many of my other guests ordered the pasta however they were sent out wrong. Either the type of meat was wrong or the Cajun was added or not added. Around 10pm a young couple walked in. I didn't think nothing of until one of my guest heard the girl say...these old people need to hurry up and get out of here. I left the table to address the young girl. She told me that she was the owners daughter and that she was 22 years old, that she didn't need to be talking to me because she didn't have on a bra and her hair wasn't comb and she just came to close. I was thrown back by her rhetoric and demanded to speak with the owner. She went back and forth with me for about 20 minutes. Mind you of the 15 people at least 5 of them had not received their food. I was still demanding to speak with the owner the young girl then says I'm going to give you a 30 % discount. I told her that want enough as she is rude disrespectful and had ruined my birthday dinner. She continued to call us old people and said just leave y'all didn't have to pay nothing. We didn't even get a chance to eat, so why would we pay for poor service. The insult to injury is that I called a couple days later to speak with the owner. Instead I got the manager LaTonya. She apologized profusely and offered and opportunity to make it write for me. I explained to her that delayed leaving a review to see how things were going to be handled She asked me not to leave a negative review and to call her and she would have my meal of choice prepared as a dine in or carry out. I called last week and she didn't answer so I texted her. I identified myself and told her what I wanted. She responded back by saying we don't have power. I have allowed and entire week to elaspe and she has not contacted me back.

This is a poorly ran business in the community. This is exactly why trying to patronize black businesses is overrated. This was a horrible experience and started my birthday dinner off really bad. My family and Friends mean a great deal to me and this was a very embarrassing moment. Again, the manager didn't even make me whole as promised from the first disrespectful incident. ...
