Golden Bowl Chop Suey — Restaurant in Detroit

My husband and I just ordered from this location by mistake! And a huge mistake it was! I ordered wonton soup and shrimp fried rice. I’ve ordered this many times at OTHER Golden Bowl location and it was delicious! THIS 6 mile location was terrible! Their “ wonton soup” was full of carrots, mushrooms, other veggies and finally a couple of undone tasting meat like wraps that had gristle in the first bite that I took! There was little broth after all of the other gunk was added and the broth was a deep yellow and artificial lookingI I opened the shrimp fried rice to find what looked liked boiled brown rice & mini shrimp. No egg was mixed in, making it look even more bland! The rice was very clumpy in part as though it had been refrigerated and wasn’t heated thoroughly! One big cluster of rice that I picked up actually looked like beef! This was obviously not fresh food and after just a few bites I threw it all away!... (the awful soup concoction and the boiled rice & shrimp! ) I will add, the portions were larger at this location, but that is of no benefit when the food is not fresh nor taste good! After this experience I will not return for a second time! Please do better for future patrons...

This is my spot!!!! I love the owners, staff and husband and wife team. My food is always fresh. The quality and portion size is also great. You get more than what you pay a modest and fair price for. I order usually the Pepper Steak and Rice. It's delicious!!! Real beef and the gravy is superb. I also love the Almond Chicken and brown gravy with Shrimp Fried Rice and extra green onions and bean sprouts. The Sweet and Sour Chicken is also A MOUTH WATERING Experience. I get my sauce on the side for dipping...but when they add it to my white meet lightly battered chicken...it's a great combination as well. Overall, they would get 10 🌟 if it was available. This is truly a neighborhood Iconic Spot and local favorite. They have THE BEST Chinese food in the city!!!! Period. When you come to visit Detroit...you MUST STOP...

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. Starting coming back regularly over the past year. My orders are always over $100. So they forgot to give me two beef and broccolis I order on Tuesday. I called them as soon as I got home and noticed it, as I live pretty far away. They told me I would have to wait until a manager could call me back. Several hours passed and I missed the call from the manager. I called back the next day and I explained what happened and was told the manger would call me back and they never did. I made this order through there website and they didn’t give me over $30 worth of food and now no one will help me. The food here is decent but not worth the poor customer service.
