Food Exchange Restaurant — Restaurant in Detroit

I'm sorry, Some Black Businesses still don't know how to treat their own race. I called and asked was their online menu prices correct, The man said, I don't know let's find out. I asked about the fries and pop for $2.50, He said no you get fries and cole slaw. He also said when I inquired about the online menu, Oh I thought you were going to order a lot of food. To me, I thought that was very unprofessional. Then he said oh, I'm just f@#king with you man. I wasnt amused. So I ordered the 12oz Hamburger, The 2 for 5 corned beef sandwiches and the fries and cole slaw. It came up to $16 and change. When I got there, He was kinda big and tall man and older and gray, A little intimidating. So I paid for my food and went to my car. I noticed I didn't have my fries and cole slaw and went back inside the restaurant and showed the receipt to him on the glass and asked him What is Special Items for $2.75, He said I don't know What you order. I said Aren't you taking the orders. He said what is your name, And I said you didn't ask my name when you took the order. Then he flipped on me and Said you had an attitude on the phone and you have one now. I said look man I dont have an attitude, (Usually when you go to a restaurant they usually have females taking the orders) I can see he was frustrated rubbing his hesd and said he didn't mess up the order the cooks did. I told him this is my 2nd time ever coming here, Basically he was very rude and never apologized for his behavior, He just gave me a slice of cake with my remaining order and other customers were coming in and when they asked for their call in order he messed that gentleman's order up to where he forgot to add to his order and the man had to come out of pocket because they didnt have the whole order right and me and the other customer just looked at each other and shook our heads and smiled. Bottom line, No social skills and No customer service. And told the other customers we are updating our menu. Terrible!!! 1 other thing, With all of this, They have the nerve of having a Fairly Decent Ass Size Sign That Reads (NO REFUNDS!!!)...

I am African American that's writing this review. This is a black-owned restaurant. So you try to support your own kind.. I probably spent $1,000 with them buying hamburgers over the years. They will never get a penny out of me again. I buy a hamburger from this place. I told them to put extra mayo and catch up on my burger. Get to the place the price is higher.

I asked them did you go up on the price I'm always coming here and buying hamburgers. She told me no, we charge you extra for ketchup and mayo. I said I go to all type of restaurants white /black. They never charge you for no ketchup or extra ketchup. I told them ,I shouldn't have to pay for something that's already coming on the hamburger. But you don't charge me If I get extra ketchup packs. Black man that run it he wasn't there today. It was two black women. You know black women attitude I had to walk out and leave the hamburger, because of principle of what they try to do. They will never get my business again. A restaurant like that don't deserve to be in business, how they treat their customers. Then the black woman had a nerve to tell me, we is a small black business so that's why we charge for ketchup The white folks don't do it, The Chaldeans don't do it, The Arabs don't do it You should be proud to get somebody to purchase something from you. not try to nickel and dime you.

If you worry about charging me extra, you ain't worried about me spending $1,000 with you no more. That's over with, over some petty ketchup that you try to play me on. That ketchup going to cost you more, than what I've been spending with you. I hope The ketchup was worth it. No customers should get treated like that, You give black business owners bad reputation. We already have it hard in the world already. And you make it prime example why people don't want to shop and eat at...

Today is July 25,2018. I'm so pissed at food exchange right now and they will NEVER have to worry about me supporting their black owned business EVER again!! I just purchased 2 lamb burgers med- well, one with extra ketchup and mustard which was 5 extra cent per condiment, plus .60 cents for cheese.. I'm ok with that but if I ask you to please make sure you season my burgers and make them med- well do just that.. needless to say I got the food home and the burgers were so over cooked it was ridiculous.. as a cook how you not know that your over cooking meat. I called the restaurant only to be told that the manner will want those Burgers back because "their not going to believe you". I'm almost 40 with degrees, and a state job, not to mention I just spent 20.00 on two freaking burgers so why would I lie about my dinner being over cooked. I live downtown not around the corner from food exchange and I have work at 4a.m. so I told the young lady that I will not be able to bring the burgers today or tomorrow, she told me that"well whenever your ready to come back just bring them then". This lady expect me to hold on to burgers for days??? are you kidding me. Once I hung up my girlfriend noticed two pieces of aluminum foil stuck to her burger under her bottom bun... THIS WAS DINNER! NOW I'M TO UPSET TO EAT LET ALONE GO FIND SOMETHING ELSE!! I'll give them two more years and they will be shut down. I'LL NEVER COME BACK OR REFER. #...
