Breakfast & Burgers by Cutters — Restaurant in Detroit

I am not from Michigan. I googled 3 yrs., ago for a restaurant that served "chittlins" (yes, I am from the South) & this restaurant came up. It has taken me 3 yrs to finally get there. Like every other place, they were short of help and most items listed on their menu, they did not have. It was explained, that the lady that did all of the cooking was not there. Reviews that I looked at stated that they were rude, I did not encounter anyone that was rude but the lady that waited on me was not "attentive" as she should have been (trying to do several things at once) but yes, they were definitely "slow" - so if one is in a hurry, try calling in your order. Prices, like everywhere went up. I wanted ox tails and noticed that they had went from $ 12.00 to $ 22.00 ( not happening, unless I am going to get a whole, whole lot). Lucky for me, they did not have any and it was explained because no one wanted to pay that price - you damn, right. Too steep for me. I finally settled for "pepper steak. Food was good, very good but again, I am not from Michigan. What I received was beef & rice. There is a big difference. Pepper steak is sliced steak with peppers, usually, red & green & onions but I guess that that was their version of "pepper steak. Would I eat there again- yes but they need to go "food shopping. Had no turkey wings, either. And on one review, it was mentioned that the person's food was piled on top of everything, well, mine was sectioned off as it was supposed to have been. I am very picky, picky about MY Food, had it been piled together, there would have been a big problem - do not pile my food together as though one is feeding a hog....

First time at this place, not greeted nor given any direction where to stand to order carry out. We stood at the counter bar where we could be seen by workers, yet after standing there without being acknowledged, we finally had to yell to a worker that we needed to place an order. The lady said okay then proceeded to ring someone out,, then answered her cell phone & remained distracted at least another 5 minutes before taking my order! The wait to finally get the food was lengthy too so Im glad that the omelet was quite tasty! The following week we went back because I liked the food selection & prices. This time we stood by the bar again to order. Eventually workers made eye contact with us, but didn’t smile, speak or ask if they could help. Ten minutes later my husband told a worker that we need to place order. She said okay but continued to occupy herself. After total of 15 minutes ,my husband & I left and ordered delicious food & received friendly , professional service also, as should be expected! Connie & Barbara’s can cook, but have a lot to learn! Their actions show they don’t value all their customers, therefore we will will no longer be a customer or one that recommends others try...

Went in there restaurant Friday February 2nd I got to the restaurant at 11:28 around 12:30 I asked my waitress how much longer would it be before my food is ready she went and spoke to the Kooks and never came back and said anything to me not 5 minutes not 10 minutes nothing at the being that our I realized she had never brought me my coffee that I ordered finally after contemplating a leaving the restaurant there was a gentleman there not sure if he's a manager or not but he told me to stay and said he would personally bring out my order so I stayed after getting my order to me after 1 hour and 24 minute Mark the grilled chicken I ordered at become a fried chicken sandwich my niece's eggs weren't cooked as she ordered and they gave her grits instead of hash browns at that point I just didn't feel comfortable giving some one my money who had treated me so unfair that point I got up and I left the restaurant I have been going to Connie and Barbara's for at least 1516 years but Friday was the last day that I've ever go back that waitress that they had super super super incompetent and I believe the older lady there knew that I wasn't just being a butt and complaining for no reason hope you guys...
