A coworker turned me onto K & G's food back in 2005. Isaac & Melvin were the main cooks. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS BACK THEN and the MEALS WERE WELL PROPORTIONED!!! THE SOUL FOOD HAD SOUL(seasoning) in it! I would drive from Clinton Twp. every weekend for years to get food especially the dressing. Well I stopped going because the taste went down while the prices went up! Today I decided to try them again. I spent $21 for a beef ribs dinner. K & G charges more than a dine-in restaurant that serves you bread and brings beverages and condiments to your table with a smile. K & G even has the audacity to charge 50 cents for 2 teaspoons of cranberry sauce! It used to be free when you bought dressing. The beef ribs had ZERO seasoning! Their so called dressing was just crumbled cornbread with ZERO seasoning, no onions, peppers or celery, JUST CORNBREAD! The Mac was just ok after I put salt & pepper on it! All of the portions were minuscule at best. I'll never spend another cent on their soul-LESS food again! Well maybe the wing dings since they're already breaded & seasoned in the box before they fry them. Nearly twice the price for half as much!!
Update: I decided to try their dressing again. This time it...
Read moreNope. Not going thru it again. Food serving staff good and trying hard in the environment they have to toil in. But then you take your food and napkin to the front counter to have your napkin handled as the cashier rings up price written on container with consistently rude, dismissive attitudes. Can't the food servers put your food and napkin in a bag at the food area? I threw the napkin away! Food is ok, but they're trying to sell too many items so it's hit and miss and the whole food area does not look particularly clean or tidy. Further, the pricing can be high for food that has sat, and sat - congealed. The main issue is the check-out scene. I mean you know it's not an upscale joint, but goodness for the prices a pleasant smile could...
