I placed a call-ahead order for pickup, specifically for an omelette that includes toast and hash browns. Upon arriving at the establishment, I was not greeted as there was no one at the counter. After waiting for about ten minutes and reading a sign aimed at employees that warned, "Give condiments without being asked, and you will be FIRED!" I considered leaving. Eventually, a young lady appeared and asked if I had called ahead. I confirmed, provided my name, paid for my food, and left.
While in the car on my way to work, I decided to take a bite, only to discover I had received a brick instead of hash browns. I was shocked that these so-called hash browns were placed in my container rather than discarded! The kitchen staff clearly showed a disregard for delivering quality food. I called the restaurant back using the same number I had ordered with, but was promptly put on hold. After five minutes, I decided to call from a different number (still waiting on hold on the first call). The same young lady answered and said, "Rios, go ahead with your order." I was astonished by their lack of concern for handling complaints; had I not called from another number, I might still be waiting on hold.
According to management, my only recourse was to bring the food back in the morning since I would be late for work if I turned around immediately. As I'm not local and just pass by on my way to work when I work at a particular location. However, I wasn't sure what to do with just a side of hash browns and requested a partial refund. I was told that my only option was to return what would be day-old hash browns to have them remade. Professional customer service is clearly lacking here, and I ultimately just...
Read moreIf you go there for the breakfast special (or any other food that contains chili, soup, or something liquid) make sure you go inside and not in the drive-thru. They just don't care about throwing your food container around, up, down and everywhere else when you in the drive-thru. They just slop the grits into the container and move it all around so by the time you get it in the drive-thru the grits have spilled out of the container into the plastic bag. Then, they constantly forgetting to put your toast in the bag too. This is the 3rd time they have done this by the way. The grits are bland but the bacon and eggs taste good. If you go to this place just try to avoid the drive-thru because they will either forget to but things into your bag or shake your food container up and have everything everywhere. Like I understand they get busy but don't shake up my food container before giving it to me just because I'm in the drive-thru smh. This place used to be called Aloha but...
Read moreRios Coney Island has proven to be a staple in my neighborhood. Trusted to deliver great food, friendly service (for the most part), with efficient timing. However, I am fundamentally distrustful of places that do not provide an itemized receipt…except upon request. Historically places like this have hidden cost (fees not detected on their menus). As is the case with the onion roll option. It may be petty to speak to being that it’s only a $.49 up charge… but it’s a hidden charge nonetheless. Makes me curious about other charges. My suggestion to management is to place all additional charges and fees on your menu or in plane sight as to inform your customers on where their money is going. Otherwise it looks a little shady. It’s not a good luck to nickel and dime your customer base, though I hope that is not your true intention. ...
