New Harper Seafood # 1 — Restaurant in Detroit

This place should not be in business. I really wanted to try this place however it was a totally waste of time and money. The first time I went here and tried to order the didn't accept credit cards or debit cards. They only accept cash and venmo and cashapp. Isn't that something. The next time I came back I was prepared however they wasn't the food was terrible I spent over $67.00 and the shrimp was absolutely terrible. It was like they batter the shrimp with just flour no seasoning what so ever. And they were fried hard and the shrimp was smaller in the inside then they looked on the outside. The catfish was fried to hard also no seasoning or flavor. And let's not even get into the sides they put them in really little cups mind you there were dinners. When someone orders a dinner you always give them more than you expect to get from just ordering a side. Please people don't wait your money I have ate better from the Arabic seafood places you know. You buy and they fry please. Mind you the sides like the green beans looked as if someone just poured them out a can and...

I bought a pound of shrimp from them today and as I was eating, I began to feel sick. The shrimp were cooked a nice golden brown, but the batter was did not cook inside. I called the restaurant and the lady told me to bring them back and she will let me know what she can do. Well, a man assisted me when I returned and I told him about the batter and me getting sick. Not once did he apologize for me getting sick. He was only concerned about how many shrimp I ate and he asked what did I want him to do and I told him that I wanted my money back and I do not have to return. The resolve to the problem is to put the shrimp in the oven to make sure that they cooked throughout.

I come here because the food is good however the Customer Service on the phone while taking orders and face to face is HORRIBLE! I have supported this black business plenty of times and today that day. I called and placed an order chicken wings dipped in barbecue sauce once I get there go to my car the order wrong! I go back in tell the girl at the counter and she mad because I said it should have been done right after waiting so long and I had the lady repeat my order back to me on the phone because I know how they are at times. As I’m waiting for them to correct my order me and the other customers hear them back there talking about me and laughing and giggling it’s so UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WILL NOT BE BACK.
