Please keep in mind that this place is Black owned and NEW. With that being said it’s very pretty on the inside and it’s a Vibe. I will try my best not to bash them. But give my honest opinion. The waffle fries was good! However, the drinks are nasty and weak. We had the soul on ice and it tasted like lemon juice and the black ice was just not good. We tried ordering regular drinks like Long Island ice teas and martinis. Hoping for a better outcome. The Long Island taste like lemonade and they must have forgotten the liquor in the martini. The Lobster burger was not good. No flavor and my spinach was over cooked. It was not much room to sit. People sit for hours enjoying the ambiance and live Dj. Almost leaving it impossible to sit. The Dj was horrible for a Friday night. Both Djs played very very old school music (1960s/1970s). Which was really nice for a little while. But I think the Dj could have read the crowd a little better and mixed it up a little more than what he did. Our waitress could use more training. We had to keep flagging her down to order food, drinks and to even pay our bill. Then she charged us for a drink that we paid for at the bar. She also got mad at the bartender because she was taking our order when she decided to go out to smoke before checking on her table 1st. The lounge area seating is horrible. The sectional was so uncomfortable and low to the ground. The food menu choices could be better. I understand they are trying to be upscale. However, if all else fail. People will always order wings, a regular burger and fries. That’s NOT on the menu. The bartenders need better training on how to make the drinks. The cost of the drinks DID NOT match the price. Neither did the price of the food. I plan to go back in a few months. In hopes maybe it...
Read moreIt was date night for me & my wife. Upon arrival, the scenery wasn’t bad, it was nicely decorated. The lighting was a big dark for my liking, but it’s a bar so I get it. We were welcome by a server who greeted us with a smile & hood energy. The menu placard are nicely done. Not too crowed with selection, which isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes having too many items on a menu takes away from the overall selection. The crowd seemed to be an older type crowd. Now here’s where the experience took a turn. After a few moments you can’t help but notice the music was too loud for conversing with each other & the music selection wasn’t too great. Trap music isn’t my thing. So leaning over to yell back & forth wasn’t enjoyable. After a few moments the server came over for our orders. My wife ordered the salmon croquettes & I ordered burger & fries & drinks. The drinks arrived in a timely manner……. However after about 20 minutes the server came over & asked was everything ok. We said still awaiting our order. After going to check on order an additional 30 mins go by. Greeted by the manager he apologized & stated that they’re short staffed & offered free drinks & assured the order would be up shortly. 17 mins go by & we decided to just go ahead & end the night. The music was too loud & started to annoy me. Overall we never got the food, the staff were professional. Soul on Ice has great potential, perhaps it was an off night. We may revisit at a later date. But first impressions is a must for me. I can’t give a definitive score because we never got the...
Read moreMy husband and I went last night at about 6:30pm. They require Valet parking to park in their lot which is $10. Their parking lot is safe and secure. If you choose the park on your own, you have to find your own parking on the street. I wish we could have parked our own car (because of germs) and they just charge the $10 to park in their lot. When we walked in we were greeted by the hostesses who were welcoming. We were able to seat ourselves. The bar seating was pretty full so we sat next to the DJ booth. The music was ok, until the DJ arrived. When the DJ arrived the music was so much better, in my opinion. Our waitress came over right after we sat down. My husband ordered a double shot of Jameson which was $30 (price of a whole bottle). I ordered a Lemon Drop which was ok until I got another one with a double shot of Grey Goose. We also order their Lobster Burger and Seafood Gumbo, which was different. My husband liked the Seafood Gumbo even though ours had no shrimp in it, mainly rice and a few pieces of sausage and crab. It reminded me of chili, like it had a tomato base. He got the taste of barbecue sauce for some reason. We both enjoyed the Lobster Burger. A few things I will say is that we wished they would have had a few more finger food options. Our waitress was attentive. It was kind of hard to get her attention at times, but she was a good waitress. We definitely will go back with our family and friends. We enjoyed ourselves. We were there for almost 3 hours....
