Ok, so initially I wanted to leave 4 stars, I really did. I ordered via Doordash, and when the order arrived I had issue with several things. Mind you, with the tip I spent nearly $60 on the meal.
First off, it comes in a great plastic bag. Problem I had is it is sealed at the top by a glue strip, and the only way to open it is to tear the bag. I'm sure it's done with the intention of assuring the customer the food wasn't tampered with. Problem is I try to reuse all plastic bags for trash, so it was wasteful.
Then, there were no utensils. No napkins. The Texas toast was Texas bread. The portions were smaller than I anticipated for the price. And the chicken was dry as jerky.
So needless to say, I was starting at no higher than 4 stars. The issue I had with this was then I tasted the food. Everything (aside from the chicken) was spot on delicious. The pulled pork and the ribs were moist and flavorful. The hickory BBQ sauce was so good I wished I ordered extra. Beans were great, Baked potato salad was fantastic, never had one like it before. And the chocolate brownie stacker, fuggetaboutit!
The chicken I can forgive. 1st I ordered 20 minutes before closing. 2nd, it's hard to keep chicken moist once you cut it. 3rd, it was delivery. Flavor was there, and the dog loved it, so I'm not complaining.
But with the food being so good, ultimately I couldn't justify the star loss, even with the issues. Great Great BBQ. And I travel to Dodge City for work regularly, so I will surely be eating...
Read moreWe are from out of town and were hoping for some good bbq after a long day driving. This slop in a box is what they call a signature dish on their website. This was supposed to be the load baked potato with smoked turkey. It looks terrible. Didn’t bother to dress the potato properly at all. There’s barely any cheese or sour cream. They couldn’t even bother to chop up the turkey, or even put enough turkey on the spud. I certainly think the person who put this together wouldn’t have made it for themselves like this if they were going to eat it. Dine in, takeout, or delivery, it shouldn’t matter on the quality of how the food is presented. Each person is a paying customer and deserves quality. Most of the time customers who are using a delivery app are paying even more for the same items, and I would never serve this to a paying customer. My husband’s plate wasn’t any better. The green beans taste straight from a can with no seasoning. The “toast” was a wet, soggy piece of bread. The brisket was so dry it was disintegrating and totally inedible. Zero stars! Avoid this place and try some place else. I would love...
Read moreUpdate. Unfortunately I have to update my review after my experience yesterday around 140 pm. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, mac & cheese, beans & a regular drink. Half of my brisket was nothing but fat. The mac & cheese was barely warm & the beans were dry & thick. Then I went to get my drink & there was no unsweet tea out, so I asked & was told to get it from the sweet tea because they had not added sugar yet. Well, that was empty so I just said I want my money back for the drink because I don't drink pop. The guy seemed irritated that I used my cup to get water instead of coming back up for a water cup, as if I knew there were special water cups. I'm not sure what has changed here, usually food is on point but this visit was very disappointing.
I love Billy Sims!!! My favorite is the brisket. It's always tender and so flavorful. I always get the baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Both of those are delish! This is my favorite bbq place out of all of the...
