I had the pleasure of dining at Katrina Restaurant in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico, and I can confidently say it was a remarkable experience deserving of 5 stars. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Can-Can Pork Chop with Plantain Mofongo.
The Can-Can Pork Chop was a masterpiece of culinary artistry. Cooked to perfection, it boasted a crispy exterior that gave way to succulent, tasty meat on the inside. The flavors were exquisite, with a balance of fat and protein that left my taste buds dancing with delight.
Complementing this stellar dish was the Plantain Mofongo, a Puerto Rican classic executed flawlessly. The mofongo was expertly mashed, infused with aromatic garlic. It provided the ideal accompaniment to the pork, enhancing the overall experience.
What truly impressed me about Katrina Restaurant, besides the outstanding food, was the reasonable prices. Dining in such an establishment (mainly due to location), I expected higher costs. However, Katrina Restaurant offers a delightful fusion of quality and affordability, making it accessible to a wide range of diners.
In addition to the exceptional Can-Can Pork Chop and Plantain Mofongo, the restaurant's menu showcases a diverse selection of Puerto Rican dishes, ensuring there's something to satisfy every palate. The ambiance was quiet, and good for a good family conversation, and the staff's warmth added to the overall wonderful experience.
For anyone seeking a great dining experience in Dorado Beach, Katrina Restaurant is an absolute gem. It's a testament to culinary excellence, offering top-notch dishes at reasonable prices. This establishment is a must-visit, and I can't wait to return for another...
Read moreKatrina’s Restaurant in Dorado is where you go when you want amazing food, chill ocean vibes, and the kind of fried fish that makes you question why you ever doubted seafood. If you’re looking for a place to eat and soak up some Puerto Rican flavor—this is it!
Let’s talk about the food first. The whole fried red snapper is so fresh, I half expected it to wink at me. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with the classic Puerto Rican mofongo, it’s the kind of meal that makes you fall in love with island cuisine. The seafood paella is another showstopper—it’s like a treasure chest of deliciousness. Every bite is packed with bold flavors, and let’s be real, it’s so filling you might need to cancel your plans for the rest of the day.
The location? Unreal. You’re practically dining with your toes in the sand. Add in the gentle ocean breeze and the sound of waves crashing, and you’ve got the ultimate beachside dining vibe. It’s like every bite tastes better just because of the view.
The staff are fantastic—super friendly, helpful, and quick to make you feel like you’re part of the family. Need a recommendation? They’ve got you. Extra napkins for that whole fried snapper? Already on it.
And don’t even get me started on the drinks. Whether it’s a refreshing mojito or an ice-cold Medalla, they know how to keep your thirst as satisfied as your appetite.
Katrina’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a mini-vacation. You come for the food, stay for the vibes, and leave with a full belly and a big smile. Just don’t forget stretchy pants—you’re going to need them! Highly recommend this gem for anyone...
Read moreI went to PR for vacation and visited Katrina Restaurant, I thought I was going to have a great experience. My first red flag should have been when the server came and told us a long list of things they didn’t have available in the menu. He took our order and never came back after that. We saw him going back and forth to all the other tables he had and we had to get up and ask him for a refill on one of our drinks. We waited about 45-60 minutes for our food. We asked for it Togo because we were running out of time in our day. We paid $166.05, a tip included. A tip that THEY put obligated on our check which was never told to us. We were only a party of 2, the menu stated a party of 5 or more gets a service charge on their bill. They are at least supposed to tell you about the service charge. I leave the restaurant and my food was horrible. The lobsters were drowned in butter and it was chewy like gum. We had green salads which were just soggy pieces of lettuce and 2 slices of tomato. The mofongo was cold and extremely salty. We also had octopus salad that I didn’t even bother checking. We returned the food and requested a refund, we go back and there’s a long line waiting to be seated, no one is taking urgency of the waiting customers and I only saw the manager sit one party down since I was there. She had no urgency in the things she could take care of as a manager of her restaurant. On top of that, the refund process took...
