AHI POKE BAR (Dothan) — Restaurant in Dothan

I haven't been able to change my review thoughts of all 10 in-person visits to this place. The food is decent and tasty. The customer service is less-than acceptable. The guy is a smartmouth and gives off the energy that you are wasting his time, every time. There's no common courtesy greeting upon entering the establishment, nothing. The young lady behind the counter was equally as shrewd and barely spoke over a whisper and stared as if I was there too rob her, or otherwise. After waiting a whole 4 minutes without a greeting, without an "I'll be with you in a moment " she returned from the prep area asking, 'what can I get for you' with the same 'blank stare and I really want you gone' look. So as of today I will no longer patronize this establishment. My money spends the same everywhere there, I'll take it elsewhere maintaining my God-given dignity...

I was not really impressed with the employee. Was looked at like I was bothering her. But I was determined to order something since I heard good things on Facebook. The employee was getting off work and that’s probably why. But please don’t be on your phone and be rude to customers who just want to do business with you. I ordered three different dishes. The guy took over my order. He loaded up my plates with a good variety of stuff off the food bar. Went in the back to heat it up. It was very expensive. There are some small chairs and tables out front. A young couple on a date were dining in. I don’t think they wait on you but not sure. I ordered from the counter. It was okay food. The rice was a little crunchy. I don’t know if I will go back. It’s a good place for vegetarians. I hope they work on customer service. Can park an RV there...

Review: I'll tell you something—I absolutely love the food here. It’s one of the only places in Dothan where you can find this kind of healthy, customizable, and fresh option, and I genuinely hope more people continue to support it. The ingredients are always solid, and the variety makes it easy to come back regularly.

The only reason I’m not giving a full five stars is due to the customer service experience. I often walk away wondering if I’ve inconvenienced the staff just by asking a question or requesting something simple. It’s possible I’m reading too much into it, but the interactions sometimes feel a bit cold or rushed, which makes me hesitate to engage fully.

That said, I really want to see this place thrive. The food speaks for itself, and with just a bit more warmth on the service side, it would be a five-star experience...
