This will be on going review. My father ( 96 yrs old) was admitted to Flowers due to a fall. I spoke to a nurse after he was admitted and he did not have any information other than what the ER doctor had told me that he had 2 cracked vertebra. He was moved to Flowers so that he could be assessed by neurology. I have left my phone numbers and was told they would be put into the chart so that I could be contacted. I have Durable Power of Attorney and have provided DNR information to Nurse Molly for my father. Nurse Molly was extremely helpful though I have yet to receive any definitive information regarding neurology after multiple calls My first contact was nurse Molly on 4th floor. I was contacted by Katheryn a case processor and she had no information re his health or expected discharge. I was told he has 2 cracked vertibre at C1 and C2. He also is being treated for Atrial fibrillation (AFib). I was told he is being restrained. I called at 7:25pm on Thursday night and spoke to a nurse Kelsie but she did not have any information and told me to call back and try a supervisor in the morning I called Kelsie back at 7:45 pm and she was a great help but did not have definitive information regarding cardiology and neurology results. As of yet Neurology or Cardiology staff or doctors have not reached out to provide any information. Very difficult/frustrating as I am located in California. All I am getting is bits and pieces from the different nurses but no solid answers. Not a very good experience with this hospital so far. I will post again as the days progress. July 2nd today and my father has been in the hospital for 7 days. I still cannot get constant updates by either the nurse or Dr. Alberti. I have called a min of 3 times per day every day and feel I have to pry information out of the nurses. I have spoke to Dr. Alberti only once. Seems like a daily updates is not too much to ask. Today I waited all day for a return call and it is now 4pm from Dr. Alberti. I spend over an hour each day on hold trying to get an answers from the nurses on the 4th floor north. Very frustrating and simply not necessary. My father passed on July 8th. I have changed my review from 1 star to 5 star. Nurse Molly and Dr. Alberti helped guide my family thru the end of life process these last 5 days. They were instrumental in helping us get in hospital hospice and we are forever grateful. Nurse Molly is the very best nurse and both my family and Flowers Hospital are lucky to...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would this hospital doesn’t deserve stars. There’s a lot to be said about my experience here. The only thing good I have to say is that the day shift nurses are wonderful. Now the night shift that’s whole separate problem. I woke up at 330am because of a headache was given something for it headache went away 5:30am I page for something for my pain nurse says she’ll be right with me 5:45am haven’t heard anything so I page again says the same thing. 5:55am I call my mom crying in severe pain 6:00am still nothing, 6:05am I called for the nurse again and get the same response, 6:15 again samething, 6:30am I finally get a nurse in my room to give me pain meds mind you I have been screaming in pain for an hour straight. She yells at me to calm down and to stop crying. Instead of giving me pain meds she decides to read off what meds I had already been given telling me she hasn’t been notified that I’ve been paging her for an hour. My mom is on the phone with me this whole time hearing all of this. Her name is Sabrina come to find out she has neglected the whole floor the entire night with pain management. Only reason I know this is because the same time I was needing pain meds another patient on this floor was screaming in pain and being ignored. I didn’t get anything for my pain to be controlled until 9am. They refused to replace my catheter with a new one. I ended up messing myself right after I had a bath. I tried telling them 4 times that the catheter wasn’t working. No one listens to their patients here. You get treated like your stupid and don’t know anything. This hospital is the worst place I have ever been to in my entire life. The way the nurses treat the patients is disgusting. The only nurses I can say actually cared are jaleigh, Cameron, Patsy, and Shawna. The worst one was SABRINA. She needs to be fired for the negligence she has inflicted on us patients. How can someone say they haven’t been notified of being paged to a patient’s room for pain meds? Something seriously needs to be done about that nurse. Sabrina was in the hallway at some point laughing while patients are screaming in pain and being...
Read moreI gave a 1-star only because there is not a zero star choice. Not impressed what so ever. It is one of the nastiest places I have been inside of in a while. It was definitely not welcoming in looks or people. Intake for MRI- place was nasty and very dated. Lady never smiled or talked pleasant while checking us in. A place can be dated and clean. No place we went to was clean. No pride taken in the facility at all. The tiny waiting room for our MRI was also dirty. Went to the men’s public bathroom and it was a disaster. Filthy. My dad is having to have major back surgery and Flowers had an opening for a surgery before Southeast Health. If he wasn’t in so much pain I would have waited it out. Already praying the surgery area has higher standards than the rest of the hospital. Praying we don’t leave with an infection from filth. The conditions a person works in determines their attitude. If a business/hospital doesn’t hold high standards and take pride in care and cleanliness, the employees will not care. No one acted like they cared about their job or their patients and did not conduct themselves with pride or confidence. I’ve probably never written such a bad review on anything but you are a hospital and any patient should expect a hospital to be top notch in cleanliness and care. I am a director in my place of business and if someone doesn’t tell me something is wrong I can’t fix it. I cannot be in all places. I also know that you have some very nice employees and not all deserve a scathing review. The ones I came in contact with on this visit were not good representatives of your facility. My hope is that you will put fresh eyes on your facility and set the bar high for all departments and make a plan to be...
