Mildred's Restaurant & Tea Room — Restaurant in Dothan

I noticed the good reviews have some age to them so maybe there have been some issues recently. We dined here with friends on Oct 15, 2023. I emailed the restaurant after our disappointing visit but they did not reply. We made numerous trips to the food room and there was barely any food. The first trip back we each got a piece of chicken. There were several trips where we got nothing at all. We eventually got a little bit of mashed potatoes and some beans. We got seated right away and were there for an hour. All of the pictures online show much more than what they had that day. There was never any cornbread, and only one small pasta salad. Haven't been there for a while, kind of fell off my radar, but if you want a great meal for a great price you must go. The fried chicken is perfectly prepared, crisp on the outside and moist inside. Vegetables are fresh and perfectly seasoned and the freshest salad I have had. Don't forget the homemade dessert that is included along with a drink for only 12.00.I will definitely be back soon! Mildred's has recently become one of our favorite places to dine for lunch on Wednesday and Sunday. We love the homey atmosphere I love sitting in a different room within the house each time we visit. All the food is self serve in one room just inside the door. I like the sanitation aspect of the food being served under a clear plastic cover, allowing you to reach in with tongs or a large spoon to choose your meal.
