Consistently one of the BEST fried food dives in the tri-state area. We've been going there for years and not once has the cook had an "off" day. Service I rated as average because it depends on who's running the register. Atmosphere I rated as average because let's face it, you're not going to find candles and a wine steward in a fried food dive. However, if you're looking for the BEST fried chicken wings EVER, I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I recently ordered the liver & gizzard plate and it was cooked to perfection. So many places over cook livers & gizzards but not here. My husband had the fried catfish and it too was amazing. And did I mention that serving sizes are crazy big! You won't leave hungry! Yep, You're gonna wait. Probably even if you call in ahead (which I strongly advise). But, it's worth it! Are the workers always smiling and sweet? Heck no! Does it take away from anything? Heck no! They don't have to be kind. The food is amazing! Not a bad thing ever have I had! When you cook like that, kindness is optional and no one cares. Food quality and taste have declined during my last 2 visits compared to the many i have had in the past. I did not do a review the first time my food was not good at all because everyone has a bad day 🤷🏾‍♀️. But the second time in a row not being delicious as I am accustomed to is where I draw the line because each visit I spend about $60 because of the size of my household.
