I have been coming here for over 22 years and the flavor, the consistency of the food remains. I'm in awe of this place!
I heard someone say it was salty, I honestly wonder if it was a particular day of grave error because in these 22 years we ate there every Sunday for the first 5 years, ordered to go at least once a week, and when we moved to Florida we'd have our relatives bring it to us when they visited. Then they opened one in Tampa, 52 mins from my house and again, we'd drive there every Sunday for Pollo. Unfortunately, that one caught on fire and after that, for some other reason, it didn't survive.
I haven't been here in 9 years and our first meal back was Pollo (how we call it). Same wonderful flavor as always!! So, consistancy IS a big thing for them and I can attest to it.
Now, I wouldn't order french fries. That's not their thing. Their papas guisadas are their thing. I wouldn't wait for closing time either cause you're gonna get what ever they have left, but that's the same in most restaurants.
The Atmosphere is great but it isn't really supposed to be a dine in restaurant.
Their service has gotten way better, they take credit cards for a while now, there is at least one attendant fluent in English and that helps a whole lot.
But yes, it could be a bit better, I guess they could explain the whole process in English so people don't feel so odd. This day and age everyone is very sensitive and not willing to understand other cultures.
What people need to understand is that most customers, at least at the Blackwell St one, call ahead and you may truly have to wait til they serve all of them first before they get to your order. And by then, you may get the left overs of the day...it is unfortunately, but very true to most restaurants that do not waste. Not a reason for a one star review.
I'm a big fan, just got my 3rd order in 8 days while spending the holidays with family.
You guys should enjoy it for what it is, a hard working, full of flavor, very proud (as they should), piece of Colombian heaven here in Dover/Morris county.
Still waiting for you guys to come back...
Read moreGood food. I ordered over the phone and asked for plates and hot sauce. When I checked my order while still in the store before going and I asked the front desk girl for the plates she said I never asked for them which I did . Maybe if they focused on one customer at a time and had a proper hold she would have not gotten confused from the call. No biggie but when she gave me the plates and I said I’m still missing the hot sauce she seemed annoyed and said I never asked. I did and either way I’m asking for it now. I spent 45 dollars on two orders of whole chickens. She gave me 4 little sauce cups for two whole chickens. When I asked for more she said that’s all she could give or I’d have to pay extra … I get that much hot sauce when I order 6 empanadas. Either way her attitude kinda sucked and implied that I lied about asking for plates …. Weird and dumb .

Read moreGreat rotisserie chicken!! I have been going there for years and the flavor has never changed always excellent and very consistent juicy the mouth-watering. For around $14 you get a whole chicken with a choice of two sides you can choose from rice beans plantains potatoes and I think french fries. They also offer pork belly fried very crunchy. You can get a soup that is made of from liver in different parts of the chicken but it's an excellent soup worth trying. I always get that soup when I feel sick seems to help a lot. They now accept credit cards for the longest time it was a cash-only business it makes things a lot easier I would definitely...
