These people cheat! Be warned!
I have just sent the following letter to Subway' s customer service email.
This is the second visit I've made to this store.
I routinely order two foot-long BMT sandwiches for me and my wife. I order mine with double-meat.
On my first visit I did not pay attention, but when I got home with the sandwiches it seemed to me that I had less meat than usual. (This is not the first time this has happened. On one occasion I discovered that my sandwich had no ham in it at all, but that is another store and another story.)
On my second visit to the Forest Street store, today, I paid close attention while my sandwiches were made. I noticed that while there were six slices of salami and pepperoni put in my wife's sandwich, only ten slices were being put in my double-meat. I would have expected twelve slices -- six times two is twelve, yes?
When I asked your employee why I was being shorted, she told me, "We are told to only put in ten slices when a customer orders double-meat. I'm sorry, but that is what we are told to do." I was so stunned I said nothing. I continued to say nothing until your employee became so uncomfortable she said, "I see I'm not going to win this," and put in the shorted slices.
Given your recent bad publicity about 11-inch "foot longs", I can't imagine that your stores are under orders to shortchange your customers that order double-meat. I have to believe that the Forest Street store manager has decided he/she can do this and get away with it, because customers don't bother to count slices of meat.
This must be easier to get away with because I have noticed that the employees at this store ask the customer if they'd like to pay for their order while their sandwiches are being made. By distracting the customer this way, their subterfuge is even harder to catch.
I believe your restaurants are franchises. I think you need to come down hard on the franchise at Forest Street. They are cheating your customers and leaving you open to yet another lawsuit -- and one that would be more justified, in my opinion, than the one about the...
Read moreNasty absolutely nasty! Flies all over the bread which is also stale btw, old and I do mean old toppings in the container. Old wilted tomatoes, cheese that had been sitting out for the longest that it was turning plastic like and of all things the girl actually tried to put that nasty junk on my sandwich before I asked her to take it off and put some "Fresh" toppings on there. Don't even get me on their tomato's they taste about as fresh as 2 day old underwear. You want meat they don't give you much (even if you ask for double) but they give you plenty of lettuce (which is half ok and half wilted). I also forgot to add not only do they have flys all over the place but also they have fruit flies that love to hang out on the tips of their condiment bottles. Is it that hard to keep food sanitary when your business is selling food? This place is disgustingly nasty. I won't even go into a rant about that nasty knife that they never clean that they use on everyone's sandwich. Nothing is more gross than a dirty knife you used to make someone's tuna sandwich an hour ago that's been sitting on your dirty counter with flies landing all over it now slicing my bread and being used to stuff my sub toppings in my sandwich! DISGUSTING! This place is usually empty but the worse of it is paying 7-8 bucks for these sorry subs they make. Very disgusting place. Every time I pass by here my stomach turns thinking about my experiences with them can't wait for this place to close down. Their parking lot is always empty even at peak lunch times....
Read morePoor customer service. Wouldn’t accept my coupon even though it states their physical address as 991 Forrest Ave being a participating location. Rudely called me a thief for wasting their products because I didn’t want to purchase all four since they denied my bogo coupon. I ended up purchasing them all because they harassed and continued to call me a thief because now they’re products are being wasted and tried to explain how profit and loss works. I told them it wasn’t about the money and that I’ll pay for them if they need it so desperately that they’re willing to berate me because they won’t take a coupon their store participates in. Felt very embarrassed because other customers were watching how terrible their customer service was telling me how people are starving and now they have to throw good food away because I’m making them waste it. so I decided to pay For all of the sandwiches because they obviously need the money more than I do and the associate couldn’t have been quicker to accept my offer and changed her entire attitude. Will never spend money...
