The food at Oak+Ash is amazing! Ignore any sketchy reviews, and try it for yourself! We were in Memphis for Spring Break, and this BBQ was hands down better than anything we ate there. Prices were in line with what you would expect for fresh, homemade food. There are options for everyone at every price point. Our table had the nachos with pulled pork for an appetizer. Out of this world! It had an interesting combination of ingredients (pickled onions?), but it all worked! I would order this again and again. We also had the burrito (enormous), Roadrunner (sweet with vinegar notes), and Ladder 240 (full of yummy meat). Our only complaint is the Mac & cheese needs some more flavor. (My husband had been here previously and had the ribs and poutine. He said both were amazing with tons of flavor and spice!) Decor was nice. For fans of the old Zeke's, you will see old memories, but this space is much more open and modern. Tables are spaced far enough apart, so you feel like you have some privacy. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We felt welcomed and attended to. We got some great recommendations! Can't wait to return and try something new!

Trust me, this place’s current 3.9 rating is idiotic. The Haunted Hounds know what they’re doing. This is just one of many of their successful restaurants! Obviously the people of DAWAGIAC have TERRIBLE taste in food! Upon biting into this Reuben, I immediately knew it was the best Reuben that I have ever eaten. I also tried my bro’s ribs and they were AMAZING! Their BBQ sauces might be the best I’ve had! The only complaint I have is that the restaurant was a little chilly, but I felt like after putting my coat on and zipping it up, the wait staff turned the temp up a degree or 2. I recommend questioning every review for every restraint in Dawagiac. Obviously they all have the palates of cavemen!

So the first time we visited and what a great experience. A few of the older reviews are not accurate. Starting with the staff , friendly prompt , professional and very helpful because We wanted to try a few different things, so for appetizers ,burnt ends on waffle fries with brisket chill was a real winner ! My wife had The smoked chicken salad it was fresh and delicious, I had the brisket burger it was fantastic ! We were told that They are starting a Sunday brunch menu this weekend so we will be back soon to try brunch .... So many things to try .

Tried them for the first and last time tonight. We waited a long time for our food, just for it to be lukewarm at best. My husband ordered a drink from the bar and never got the chance to order a second. We both ordered the “thick and juicy” burgers, however it was not thick nor juicy.. I’d hate to see what their “thin & crispy” burger looks like. We had to double check the receipt because we were sure she rang in the wrong one. Our expectations were let down with that. We also ordered one taco, which should be on their appetizer menu, not their entree menu it’s only one taco no sides or anything. We shared the taco and if it would have been hot it probably would have been better. My potato salad was not good, at all. It tasted like mustard and nothing else. My husbands fries were way over seasoned. Our waitress checked in on us once and didn’t give us enough time to ask for refills or anything else for that matter. She was at our table just to get our order and give us our bill that she didn’t come back for after waiting 20 minutes. They’re a newer establishment hopefully service will get better with time, otherwise they won’t last. The quality of food and lack of service isn’t worth the prices.

Also to add it’s weird that they only like or comment on the positive reviews
I know not every one takes criticism well, however they could at least acknowledge the...

UPDATE: went here Saturday after golf with my brother to enjoy the food and atmosphere again. I'm not sure what happened between two months ago and now, but the food (we got the meat board again having been blown away by it last time) was significantly less, and it was definitely old. We ordered it and it came out immediately as if it were sitting ready to go before we even arrived. The bartender didn't know how to even make a Tito's and soda. The service wasn't bad, but what a change in two months. I wouldn't recommend anyone come here now. For the price there's better options in the area, which kills me to say. I think the ownership needs to be more present than what they are if they want to stay in business because God this was terrible and heartbreaking after speaking so highly of it to everyone.

Top tier food, top tier service, and a great atmosphere. Honestly it's too good for dowagic. This is the second best BBQ I've ever had and I grew up down south where BBQ was king. Hands down the best BBQ from here to Chicago. Is it pricey for the area? Yes. Is it absolutely worth it? Yes. If you want the best BBQ in the area, this is it. Also they have the best cocktails since brass eye closed in Niles. Tyler the barkeep was amazing. Would absolutely recommend. Plan on coming here again next week...
