Teddy’s Hot Dogs has been a staple in the community for years, and after my visit, I can see why. While waiting for my food, I had the chance to chat with Nahil, the owner of the building, and his passion for the place was undeniable. He personally offered me a soup to try—a small but meaningful gesture that showed how much he cares about the business and its customers. He explained that their soups are made from scratch daily, using fresh, high-quality ingredients—a rare find in fast food these days.
Beyond the food, Nahil’s background in health and nutrition drives his commitment to serving real, wholesome meals. Their burgers are never frozen and brought in fresh daily, ensuring top-notch quality. But what really stood out was his vision—he doesn’t just see Teddy’s as a restaurant; he wants it to remain a pillar in the community for generations to come. That kind of dedication is something you don’t see often.
Now, the prices are on the higher side, but as long as the quality matches the cost, I don’t mind paying for it. The food is good, fresh, and well-made, and that justifies the price. That said, I do want to make sure that the pricing stays fair and reflects what’s being offered—I wouldn’t want to feel like I’m overpaying down the line. But overall, it’s a solid spot with great food, great service, and a strong commitment to quality. And let’s not forget the milkshakes—they’re phenomenal! If you’re looking for real, fresh food and a place that values its customers and community, Teddy’s Hot Dogs is the...
Read moreI have been a customer for 20 years and when I see the new owner respond to his customers reviews in the manner that he does , it’s just wrong . Remember listen to your customers , when they tell you how they felt after spending their hard earned money in your establishment do NOT discount their feelings by telling them how you recalled their visit . You seem like a smart guy and if you are remember this :
the customer is ALWAYS right . Listen to the people who spend their hard earned money in your restaurant.
you have the quality in your product but you lost the value due to your pricing . Please do not tell customers the reason your prices are so high is to keep the quality . That is a lie . I can travel 3 minutes in any direction from your place and get 2 Vienne Hot dogs with fries for 10.88 vs 14,99. Tom Tom Tamales $2.29 and at your place $4.99 . Italian beef $8.99 your place $14.69. ETC
Either you did a bad job negotiating pricing with your vendor or you are just ripping off your customers . Either way it’s a formula for long term FAILURE.
Don’t take customers for granted . We will never be loyal to someone who is...
Beep; Boop Beep’s! OBC is from Downers Grove and for the better part of 15 years all I’ve heard about is Teddy’s Red Hots and their delicious fries. So within ~20 minutes of our flight landing we found ourselves here for her tastebuds to take a walk down memory lane. While I will admit, the fries and onion rings were pretty darn good, that wasn’t the jaw-dropping part of the experience. Many others have commented as to it and it gets a little more personal when you are the one forking over $19 for a side of fries, onion rings and fountain beverage. I suppose it’s all relative, the poor dude behind me (btw, he entered wealthy and exited poor) got shaken down for $55 for 3 burger and fries for his kids. I sensed he was surprised too, then they gave him the total he gasped “$55?! Holy $h!t!...” I’m not certain how much revenue Teddy lost during any sort of Covid shut down, but he’ll have made it all back in no time at this torrid pace. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, place was clean and the portions were “giant” as the menu stated; yet so were the prices. Heck, there was a steady stream of people so God bless ya, Teddy. Get it while...
