Boba Indeed — Restaurant in Downey

Super cute little dessert/boba location! We were casually looking on Yelp to go get a treat after dinner, and stumbled across Boba Indeed's menu. What really Hooke did in was the Honey Toasts they offered. Upon arrival, about 8:25 pm on a Tuesday- it was pretty crowded- and the location itself is somewhat small and limited seating. There is outdoor seating from what it seems, however, it was a cold evening so we stayed inside. Once we looked at the menu, the Honey Toasts that we initially came for, had an asterisk next to it- saying that it took at least 25 minutes to make and get served. So, we passed on that. Instead we each got our own dessert cup. I got the strawberry cheesecake. Angel food cake on the bottom, topped with ice cream, strawberries, cheesecake pieces, Pocky, and whip cream. I go in to order one of their "dairy free" options they have on their menu.

The cashier explained to me that although the menu said Dairy Free and that the drink was made with SOY milk, the powder they use for the tea has milk. She then explained which options were INDEED dairy free (pun intended).

So I asked for one of their options that she said were dairy free, but these were made with water instead of soy milk so I asked if I could please have a splash of soymilk in it. She went back and said the owners could not make anything that was not on the menu.

So then if I could have a bit of soymilk in separate cup. NO.

Ok, can I please just buy a cup of soy milk? No.

You guys do have soy milk, right? Yes.

Place is pretty contemporary like the lay out friendly staff. So much in the menu its best to grab one on ur way in and have a seat and really go through it. First time here so i had alot of questions due to the menu being overwhelming it truly is boba heaven ha ha Dan was patient n kind and explained things clearly but one of the items i replaced was charged n the other thing i order wasnt given to me im not sure what n how much i got charged for cus my receipt was just a number with his name on it. I got charged 14 something for 4drinks.
