Emporio Sushi & Mariscos — Restaurant in Downey

Such a enormous disappointment. I was so excited to try this establishment. Service was dreadful, they staff was overwhelmed and completely out of synch with customers needs. They were overstaffed, yet they all congregating, wandering around aimlessly while customers were being neglected. We had no server for aprox 20 min. Host was overwhelmed as well and didn't have any authority. Finally she asked a waiter to help us and they blatantly refused saying they were too busy. In front of us, making us feel uncomfortable. Finally a server took our order. Food was another disappointment. It was another 30 min wait. Food was plated divinely. Yet was bland. We had aguachiles rojos, spicy but no flavor. We also had a campechana and shrimp cocktail. Both were lovely to look at but again no flavor, kinda a watered down tomato juice with absolutely no lemon, salt, pepper. Just bland. We tried dressing it up by pouring aguachile sauce but was pointless. Coronas were warm and margaritas were 90% ice and no tequila. Ambiance was chaotic. Couple sitting behind us were very intoxicated and belligerent towards server and completely disrespectful to families sitting close by. Server continued to offering and bringing them beer. My Mom & I recently went here to try their seafood options & we enjoyed everything we tried. Loved the Botana Especial & the fish tacos. My Mom had the Oyster shots and the Ceviche de Camaron. She loved everything! The only thing that definitely could improve is the taste of the frijoles & the rice. I felt like it needed more love and sason. But all the mariscos were bomb af! We can't wait to try more of their entrées next time! Shout out to Mayra! She was so lovely! We talked to her like we had known each other for the longest time! I freaking love this location better than Orange. This restaurant is on the Blvd they have outside dining, I’m in love with their Tierra y Mar sushi roll. Y’all must try it !! Their mariscos are super fresh we ordered half dozen oysters and also the ceviche y pulpo they give you tons of saladitas crackers and tostadas junto con tapatío y limón uff.
