Reviews like this hurt to write because while the food was great, the staff left allot to be desired. After being told wait time would be abour 25 minutes for a party of 2 we opted to wait outside as large parties filled the small lobby and we had observed the hostess with red hair multiple times step outside to call the names of the people on the list. After 15 minutes we stepped back inside and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes in front of the host stand before noticing we weren’t being called. During this time no other names were called and the hostess continued to ignore us. When we asked how much longer she informed us they had called us but didn’t see us. I wonder what makes all the other names important enough to look for outside but not ours. She told us if we wanted to wait it would a some time so we decided to let it slide and move forward hoping the pizza made up for it. And it honestly might have, if our waiter remembered to put it in! After about 30 minutes after receiving and finishing our amazing appetizers we began to question how the larger parties around us had already received their pies when our party of 2 was seated and had ordered before them. We brought jt up to the amazing bus boy (who was the only one whose service was 10/10) and he finally found our waitress who informed us she had forgotten to ring up our order. Once I can understand but twice feels unprofessional. Had it not been for the bus boy making sure my drink was never empty we might have never gotten our pizza. The thing is when we finally did it was amazing. The combination of ingredients in there signature pizza dish work really well together and when paired with the warm seasoned crust it was hard to put down. It’s the perfect amount of meats yet doesn’t overpower the veggies. The wings and pasta salad were also great appetizers. The sauce on the salad worked well with the varieties of veggies included. Read moreI recently had a rather disappointing experience with Downey Pizza Company. I ordered a large pizza for pick-up, expecting to enjoy a full, delicious pizza with my family. However, upon reaching home and opening the box, we were taken aback to find a slice missing.
We immediately called the restaurant to voice our complaint, but instead of understanding our concern, they were quick to defend themselves. They asked us to count the slices, and indeed, there were 12 slices. But the gap left by the missing slice was too big to be ignored.
The restaurant tried to convince us that the pizza might have shifted during transportation, but I find that hard to believe. The gap was too large to be a result of a simple shift. It seemed more plausible that one of the cooks had taken a slice out of one of the pieces and then sent the pizza out.
I have attached a photo for you to judge for yourself. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I am not sure if I will be returning to Downey Pizza Company anytime soon. I expected better service and honesty from a restaurant of this caliber.
In conclusion, I am disappointed with the service and the lack of professionalism shown by Downey Pizza Company. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their service...

When we first got there, we were told to choose our own seats (which is totally fine), but we never got our menus and I ended up having to go to the host stand to get it myself; after 15 mins of not getting one. After our order was taken, it took even longer for our food to arrive. We had got an appetizer and figured it would be the first thing out but ended up being brought out with the pizza. I understand if the location was busy, but it was pretty much empty besides maybe 4 other couples at the bar section (who were already served when we arrived). So we were confused as to why it was so long, and at the end of our service, we never got our check and had to go ourselves to the register to ask for one. I'm not one to complain about customer service, but it sucks that we pretty much had to do everything. The food isn't bad, and we wouldn't mind coming back again, but we'll probably do take-out next time. (Also, throughout the entirety of our service, there was this lady (who I'm assuming might be a manager) coming to our table pretty often to ask if we were okay, seems like she was there more than us actually getting what...
