Went today with a family of 7. Food was great, but service was lacking. We never got any refills for either the Ameriano coffee, or water. We had to ask for extra bread more than twice. We also had to remind them of our other drinks which almost didn't arrive until mid meal. Seating to taking our order took over 20 minutes. We tried to order two shrimp dishes and had such a hard time trying to explain what we wanted, as to what was available. The menu said we could have the shrimp the way we wanted, so we ended up just ordering two of the same. I got the smoked pork chops which basically tasted like salty ham. They were cut very thin but it came two to a plate. There were two orders of 1/2 chicken and that was of very good size, and not over done. The salmon was great, not over done, so was moist. The rice was cooked great, not hard or too soft. The beans were great and so were the bananas.
The food portion size were moderate, not a whole lot, just enough. The plates were of decent size and complemented the food on them.
The tables were clean, however the glass covering our table was cracked through the middle, and if you accidentally ran your hand across it, could get cut. The noise level tolerable until a baby starts screaming then it seems to be amplified ruining the evening.
The bathrooms are down a narrow hall way, all the way in the back of the restaurant and this night there were no lights in that hall way. The men's room was clean, but the lights needed to be replaced as they...
Read moreThe outside of the restaurant looks like it's going to be fast food, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it nicer than expected on the inside of the restaurant. The servers greeted us and asked us to sit wherever we liked and brought us the menus. That's where the pleasantness begins and ends for this dining experience.
Our group ordered a Cubano (sandwich), arroz con camarones, lechon, and bistec empanizado. The Cubano tasted ok, nothing special. The portion size was very small. If that is all you ordered you would not be satisfied. The arroz con camorones was ok tasting and good portion size. The lechon was not very flavorful, nor was the bistec empanizado. I have had better (on many occasions).
The white rice and black beans were just as good if I made instant rice at home and poured on a can of black beans from the 99 cent store.
The service sucked. They took way too long to come take our order, bring out the food, and bring the bill. I had to ask for water refills several times. They weren't even very busy so there really isn't any excuse other than slow servers.

Read moreCame here for dinner over the weekend. The food was very tasty, especially the empanadas, they were probably the best tasting ones I've had in a long time. I aslo ordered the masitas and puerto (pork pieces) and it came with rice and black beans and plantains. I must say the food was very tasty. The employees were courteous and helpful. Prices are reasonable compared to other Cuban restaurants I've been to. Only downside is it seemed they had the AC going a bit strong, so I had to actually go get my sweater which solved that issue but someone who didn't have one would probably be cold but thats something minimal I could have maybe mentioned but didn't want to bother. I would definitely recommned this Cuban restaurant to anyone who is in the...
