After a full day at Yellowstone the food here tasted devine and was devoured by our group. The cafe manager on duty for the evening was very friendly and helpful. The reason I give three stars is because 1) the prices seemed a bit steep for the pizzas (then again the convenience of the restaurant so close to our camp, in a location of such beauty, and so far away from any major shipping route it’s easy to see the reason for the pricing); 2) had we not caught the chef incorrectly making the pizzas we would not have gotten what we had ordered (the positive here, is he corrected it and we got the right pizzas albeit a little later than expected); 3) two of our pizzas were not thoroughly cooked and by that I mean the cheese were not really melted. All in all if I stay at Colter Bay again I will no doubt...
Read moreWe came in with a group of people. Ordered our food at the kiosk, proceeded to pay. And because we sat down with 9 people 3 of which kids. They decided to add a mandatory 20% gratuity. You order your food standing, fill your own drinks, and all they do is bring your cooked food to the table. No actual service is given here. Absolutely ridiculous to demand a mandatory gratuity. Tipping culture is out of hand and this place is the worst! What was the tip for? Where does it go? We go annually to Teton and Yellowstone. No dining establishment aside from this one required a mandatory tip. I'll tip if service is given but no service given. I won't be...
Read moreBBQ wings had too much thick sauce. They tasted at least a day old. Too tough to chew. My dogs wouldn't eat them. I'm not exaggerating. What kind of pizza place serves wings, but doesn't have any dipping sauce? We also had a half cheese/half mushroom pizza. There was only a few mushrooms on a couple of slices. Terribly made. At least an employee didn't take a bite of it like they did our neighbor's pizza a year or two ago. They got home and found someone took a bite of their pizza. 2 bad pizzas and an order of day old wings should not be $70! We live in Colter Bay and would love a restaurant nearby that we could depend on. Sadly, this place isn't it....
