Decided to stop in for a late dinner. Arrived at 9:25 (checked their hours on Google before walking in to make sure we weren’t too late). Hours stated 10:00 p.m. As we were sitting, waiting, the staff was very openly and loudly discussing how they weren’t going to wash another dish! Woman operating the grill (name is McKenzie, we later found out) stated “I’m not making anymore hamburgers, the burger bar is closed”.
When our waitress came to take our order, I asked, (because my daughter wanted a hamburger) “did I hear there will be no more hamburgers made this evening, even though you don’t close until 10p.m.? The waitress stated, “yes, actually the internet says 10p.m. only because the drive thru is open until then, however our dining area closes at 9:30p.m.”. I did not escalate the issue because I was just trying to have a nice dinner with my family. As we were eating we continued to watch customers come into the dinning room because the doors were never locked (even after 9:30). In addition, continued to hear nasty and negative comments from McKenzie as we were eating while also having the vacuum being run while we were trying to eat which made it impossible to carry on a conversation with my family, all of which made the entire experience completely uncomfortable!!
As we were getting ready to leave. McKenzie continued to express how upset she was to, apparently have to work, as we all do. And she then stated to a co-worker “yes, I’d like to go home at some point tonight”, in response to a question she was asked. When at the counter to pay our bill, we asked our waitress to speak to McKenzie so we could express how unprofessional she was voicing her displeasure out loud in front of customers. McKenzie replied to every piece of feedback given “I’m sorry” in a very sarcastic way. Then made it clear to us “that I have a life outside of work that I’d like to get to”. We then realized quickly that our feedback was not received well and we left. As we were leaving we also noticed the hours posted on their front window stated they were open until 10p.m. without defining Lobby hours vs. Drive Thru hrs.
If you have a choice it would be worth the drive to go to a nearby Gold Star, at this point I will not return to Dry Ridge Gold Star and will give my business to the Crittenden, KY location. To any “Ark travelers” please drive to Crittenden, KY (only about 15 min north of this location - verified open till 11p.m. and staff advised if you show at 10:58p.m. you’ll be served; even a hamburger!!!!) and do not allow this restaurant to leave a negative experience when coming to...
Read moreWOW let's start off here. I walked In And stood there for 10 minutes 8 tables full of trash and no where to sit with almost a dozen staff and no one said a word. A paying customer standing there. I was starving haven't ate all day worked 16 hour shift down south in the coal Mines So I literally grabbed there cleaning gear and bussed my own table. And I hope the owner of this store looks through camera footage. I bussed my own table. Than couple minutes later someone comes to take my order. I asked for a chili burger single and a strawberry shake. I would like the shake after the burger please. The shake comes first. I made a remark about it. And the waitress leaves. I go to take a drink of the shake and what do you know the lid wasn't fastened and the milk shake dumps on my lap. The crew of 12 and only 3 tables filled looks at me stupid when I ask for a manager. The said there wasn't one here and laughed. Go to skyline or any other...
Read moreWhen you don't waste an hour and a half and 5 dollars in fuel because your order was rang in wrong and you get attitude from the employee that messed up and you show him that it's 20 min one way to my house and he says that he can't help where I live and I should've checked the order before pulling off. I thought that it's packaged to go not packaged to open before you drive 20 minutes just to find the cheese coneys you've ordered doesn't have CHEESE. I will take my money somewhere that still has some sort of integrity. Unfortunate because these are my son's favorites so we'll be patronizing a different location. I still don't know how the kid can act like I was in the wrong. Don't give them your receipt back when they ask for it because they make sure that you don't have proof. i.e.- store #, receipt #, name of cashier,...
