Dudley House of Pizza — Restaurant in Dudley

This business has two areas. One is the Pizza House side and the other is a nice sit down restaurant. The pizza is just ok. Personally I find the crust soggy and topping oily. Sandwiches and the like are quite good and fresh. If you're getting anything with tomato sauce, like a meatball grinder, ask for extra sauce or a side as they are stingy with it. Though not the norm, fried foods can be greasy during busy times...suspect the fryer is is not maintaining temperature. The kitchen staff hustles and can accommodate special request. The area for take-out is cramped and congested and can slow the process of a quick pick-up to up to more than five minutes during busy periods. The restaurant side is relaxing, the wait staff was friendly and the service was good. The menu is extensive, the food is good, prices are competitive and the staff gets it done. Great food, but little hard to understand on the phone. Of on and off ordered from this pizza joint for years now, often while just passing through since they are located on the main Thruway between Webster and southbridge and have never been disappointed in anything I've gotten from them.

It is funny how typically around your house you pick up certain restaurants that become your home base for say pizza or Chinese or tacos, etc... This place has always been one of those intermediaries when you're out on the road and you need a lunch and a grab and go but even when I lived close it never rose to primary pizza place. They are definitely worth a stop and I'm sure for the right person they could be a gym. My only primary complaint from this last visit was it was very difficult to understand the woman on the other end of the phone and I often had to ask her to repeat herself, otherwise the grinder was delicious and the service was...

Ok, so never had a problem when ordering pizza to go. I would recommend them to go, but today my sister and mother went to sit in and try the diner part and we were sorely disappointed. First off the selection was kind of poor, not alot of options to start with, then my mom had to order something else since they were out of what she wanted, then we found out for sit in diners they didn't have any fountain drinks so it was all bottled, then even though we were the only ones there, they managed to get my sister's order wrong.

Then to add insult to injury we ended up paying around $52 for all three of us. I could have gotten a better meal at Outback for a dollar less. All and all, not a great experience with sit in dining here, but still great for...
