Duluth's Black Woods Bar & Grill “Blew My Mind!”—5 Stars of Northwoods Magic! 🍖🔥 (Hidden Gem Alert: You’ll Never Leave Hungry!) # #CertifiedSearchPro
Holy smokes, Duluth foodies—Black Woods Bar & Grill is the ultimate spot for that hearty, feel-good meal that'll transport you straight to a cozy Minnesota cabin! Tucked away in the heart of Duluth, this place nails the rustic vibe with its warm wood-paneled walls, crackling fireplaces (perfect for those chilly lake days), and an ambiance that screams 'up-north retreat.' Whether you're grabbing a booth inside or chilling on their patio with views of the surrounding woods, it's like stepping into a lodge from the old logging era—think antler chandeliers, vintage photos of Duluth's timber history, and that inviting glow that makes you want to linger for hours. It's family-friendly yet date-night perfect, with a menu that celebrates all things Minnesota fresh and flavorful.
The food? Out-of-this-world delicious! We're talking juicy prime rib slow-roasted to perfection, walleye fillets pan-fried with that crispy edge (a true North Shore staple), and burgers stacked high with local cheeses and bacon that'll make your taste buds dance. Don't sleep on their craft cocktails or the extensive beer list featuring Minnesota brews—pair it with apps like the wild rice soup or onion rings, and you're in heaven. The portions are massive (pro tip: share if you don't want to roll out the door!), and the service is top-notch—friendly staff who treat you like old friends, sharing stories about Duluth's hidden trails while refilling your drinks.
The ONLY quirky downside? The portions are SO generous, you might need a nap afterward—it's like they feed lumberjacks here! 😂 But hey, that's just more bang for your buck in this food paradise. No regrets, just full tummy and happy memories.
If you're in Duluth, this is a MUST-VISIT for epic eats and that authentic Northwoods charm. Who's joining me for round two? Tag your adventure buddies and let's spread the word! #BlackWoodsDuluth #MinnesotaEats #NorthwoodsVibes #SteakLovers #DuluthDining #LakeSuperiorFood #ViralEats...
Read moreDon’t do it! In town visiting? Thinking about this place for a meal? I’m writing this 2 hrs. later back in the Twin Cities with a horrible experience and a bad after taste still in my mouth. My stomach feeling awful the whole drive back. Be smarter, read the other bad reviews about the food, it’s similar. Atmosphere was uncomfortable! Walked in with my family, asked for a table for 3. Receptionist said it’ll be 5 min. Not a long wait. I use the washroom and come back to the front. A couple walks in and ask for a table, they get seated right away. Strange, they didn’t have a reservation... Maybe there’s a 2-seater open? Nope! They get a table with 4 seats. I’m thinking, is this really happening because we’re not white? The receptionist sees my look and then tells me our table is ready. The place wasn’t busy, open seats everywhere. The couple prior was seated in the main area next to the window, but we were taken to a booth in the back. My wife asks me about what happened and I told her it’s fine maybe just coincidence. My daughter had a great day, she didn’t notice anything so I let it be. I’m a retired Vet and I don’t remember the last time something like this happened and I wasn’t letting this establishment ruin my daughter’s day. Food was horrible! We ordered the Prime Rib, Pasta Santino and Filet Mignon. The side of green beans were raw, it was seared to look cooked. The Prime Rib was dry, room temperature, and looked like it was pre-cut and plated. The Filet Mignon didn’t look right, more like a different cut to pass as Filet Mignon. Pasta had small scallops and we weren’t even sure about it having crab. Service was okay. Other than not coming over at all for drink refills, our orders were taken correctly. We were asked if we needed anything else when we got our food, asked if we wanted desert and given the bill. The bill included a credit card fee. I don’t remember any restaurants ever having this fee, but at this point it wasn’t a surprise. Price wasn’t the issue; the horrible food was. Paid cash so they could keep the...
Read moreI worked in the service industry 10 years while in college and just after. As a server, mostly bartender and manager. This place is doing everything right. It’s little details that you only notice if you worked in the industry or frequent fine dining. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service of Taylor was awesome. Her timing was impeccable, she asked me if I wanted a soup or salad, and yes I absolutely did and forget to ask for my Caesar every time. (Maybe don’t put “up sell” on the ticket) I don’t know if Taylor is just good or the management does an awesome job of training, this is my first time. The Caesar came out immediately, I forgot to ask for extra dressing, I always do. I asked after it was dropped, Taylor got it to me before my first bite. Literally 60 seconds after I pushed my salad away, Taylor dropped my pasta. Perfect timing. She checked back after my second bite and asked how it was, that is something I noticed. Not sure if it’s taught, but it’s so appreciated. All of this is service, but something that stood out even more was the welcoming to the area and her tips on where to park my RV trailer and good places to go. She acted like an ambassador to the area. This is something myself and other co workers prided ourselves on. We worked in a 5 story restaurant in downtown Fort Worth. It sells 10+ million every year. If you impress me, you impress anyone. Thank you, and I’ll drive out of my way to come here. The menu is amazing and I want...
