Mediocre food. They might be reserving old food. Won't be coming back due to terrible customer service. I'd rather take my money and go to another place in Duluth. I had a good experience at the location in Suwannee, and since I was already in the area, I thought I'd give this location a try. Bad idea. My family of 5 dined in and we began ordering. One of my family members requested a Hot Stone Bibimbap but with an over easy egg on top instead of the fried eggs (we were willing to pay extra if needed). Our waiter, an older korean man started yelling "No" repeatedly at her and would interrupt us when we tried to explain to him what we wanted (we considered the language barrier, we thought he didn't understand what we meant). It was a very rude interaction and took us all aback but we did not dwell too much on it. At the end of our meal, we decided to-go the food we didn't finish. Typically at places such as Tofu House and Jang Su Sang, even the other location of So Gong Dong, you are able to to-go the side dishes you paid for. The same man said we could not and that it's the same at other places like this as well. My family could not understand why.. we paid for this! Where else was this food going to go anyways? Are they reserving our leftovers? This man continued to GLARE and SURVEILLANCE our table to make sure we didn't put the side dishes in our to-go box. He stood at the end of our table at one point to watch us. It was very uncomfortable. Besides that, the food is the same quality at other places. Kimchi tastes sour and old. I suggest you skip the uncomfortable atmosphere and...
Read moreI frequently dine at various So Gong Dong locations for their 순두부, and my expectations are typically high due to consistently great experiences. However, this particular location didn't quite meet my usual standards for a few reasons. Firstly, the soup base seemed rather plain compared to what I've encountered at other So Gong Dong branches. This sentiment was echoed by a friend who joined me for lunch. Moreover, they opted to leave the air conditioning off, choosing to keep the front entrance door open instead. With an outside temperature exceeding 70°F, I found myself sweating while trying to enjoy a hot tofu dish. My friend shared the same discomfort. If the owner's intent was to save on the electricity bill, it may not have been the best decision. Lastly, the service was only mediocre. Until the time to bring the check arrived, our waitress didn't check in on our satisfaction, a courtesy I usually experience at other So Gong Dong locations. Despite it being during the lunch rush, the restaurant wasn't particularly crowded...
Read moreCome across this restaurant when we went to lunch with mother in law next door and the name remind us of the one in Suwannee. We did a little digging and it is another location of the same one in Suwanee with the exception that this location is way closer to there house than the other one.
We ordered the normal stuff that we always do. Instead of the dumplings like normal we did the seafood and beef since we haven't got it in a while, a full size LA galbi, beef dolsot bibimbap, and the mackerel. We were happy they still have the stone pot rice due to so many Korean restaurant nowadays changing to only give you a regular bowl. We love to eat the scorched rice with the tea or even the soup is so satisfying.
Our server was an older gentleman and he was so nice and always checking on us to see if we need anything else. We were a little sad since it was Saturday night and they barely have anyone in there. We highly recommend you try this place out since they have so much potential to be great.
Until next...
