We (6) arrived and joined the waitlist for a table at 8:30 PM, where we were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. We were not seated for well over 90 minutes, so I would suggest budgeting more time in for dinner plans here. As we placed our order, the waitress made unfriendly faces that were noticed by others in the group, which marked the beginning of an unpleasant service. As our orders arrived, we were short a serving of white rice. When a person from my group asked for it again, rather than offering to bring it out, the waitress challenged us by saying we only ordered what was originally brought out. We also ordered beef brisket, pork belly, large intestine, and potato pancakes. The meat was satisfactory, but the potato pancakes left more to be desired. I would not recommend ordering these if you are looking for a traditional dish because the appearance did not match the pictures on the menu, and they tasted like hash browns. Overall, the only aspect of this restaurant I would recommend is the meat, but the experience was heavily overshadowed by how our group was treated...
Read moreWhen my brother and his girlfriend mention Hwangso Gopchang, I knew I needed to give it a try! I enjoy trying unique and "outside the norm" foods, plus as a Korean-American, Korean BBQ has a special place in my heart. The Gopchang and pork jaw here is literally a 15 out of 10. I was blown away on how delicious it was. I live in Orlando, FL but visit here the Duluth area often and Hwangso Gopchang will always be a must visit for me whenever I am in town. Lastly, I tried Gopchang at another restaurant here in Orlando, and it was not very good. So whatever technique Hwangso has and adopted, it is again a 15 out of 10! My only complaint is that I can not get it more often since I live out of town! Oh, we tried the kimchi-cheese fried rice, which was confusing but we had to try it. This was also a grand slam delicious dish! Make sure to wash it down with so beer and soju, it rounds out the...
Read moreLove this place ! They have been open for two months they said. It's pretty, clean and spacious with separated booths to eat comfortably. They have an enclosed patio where you could eat outside and not be exposed to bugs. I noticed right away when I first walked in that it wasn't suffocating or smokey so they have good ventilation unlike other BBQ places. We did take out and you get the options of how cooked you want it. We had it 98% done so we could finish off at it. They gave lots of sides. If you eat here they offer a lot of yummy sides like ramen, mussles, dokbokki ...etc. it's next to wellbean and spa land so plenty of parking. Call ahead for take out and you can have them bring it to you in the car. Food was good 👌 there's free ice cream if you...
