This isn't the first time I've had an order mixed up by this location, but it was an awful experience tonight.
I placed a pick-up order by phone when I was maybe 10 minutes away. Wings and fries, split flavors. Pretty standard. When I got there I had to wait another 20 minutes or so with no real explanation. Finally they got me my food and I was off.
If that were the only issue, I wouldn't be here. With two turns to go until I'm at my driveway, I get a call (props to them at least for getting my phone number) that they'd given me the wrong, though similar, order. Sure enough, they had, so I turned around and made the 15 minute drive back. When I got there and returned the food (what they'll do with those wings I'm not sure), they read back my order. I had to correct it, sweet honey not sweet chili. The fellow at the to-go station said he was going back to the kitchen to make sure they had the correction. More time passed. After about 15 more minutes, my order was delivered and I left. Again.
Only to get home and find out I had indeed been given sweet chili instead of sweet honey.
So this would normally be bad but still not enough to motivate me to write a review. What brings me here is that, aside from some words by the girl working the to-go counter (thank you), there was pretty much no acknowledgement that they had given me the wrong order and wasted my time. Nor for the fact that I waited. Twice. Some free fries might have prevented this review, Danielle, or at least tempered it a bit. I don't need kowtowing, but still... a friend of mine got delivered the wrong pizza tonight, delivered to him mind you, and they refunded his money and let him keep the wrong pizza and gave him his. I'm not saying I insist on $30 of wings for free, but heck even offering me some water (which the bartenders do without fail when I pick up to-go from there at other locations) while I was waiting would have helped. But nothing. Well, who I think was an assistant manager did apologize a bit for the second wait, saying he wanted to make sure I got fresh food. Half of it was wrong, but hey, it was fresh.
This location has messed up before (forgetting fries, that sort of thing), but this takes the cake. Just don't specify what flavor of cake, because they'll likely get...
Read moreTable for 4 for a late lunch We are not usually on this side of town. We were out running around and started getting hungry. My daughter did a quick search and found a Taco Mac close by. Approaching the place, I noticed they had ample parking. I quickly found a spot and we entered. We stood at the check-in podium for about 5 minutes before someone came by. We were greeted warmly, and requested a high top table, which was closer to the bar area. I sat down and looked over at the bar and a big old grin came across my face. They had almost a full wall of beer taps. I scanned the QR code on the menu to review the full list. I have been to other Taco Mac locations, but this location seemed like it had a longer list of beers. In addition to all the taps, they had some bottle and can choices. It was tough to make a final decision. Eventually, I decided on a Stone Brewery Tangerine Express Hazy IPA and a small taster of the Founders Vanilla Porter. Wifey chose her old favorite, Blue Moon. We reviewed the menu and settled on our main course choices. I ordered the Habanero chicken sandwich with tater tots. Wifey ordered the Chicken tenders with tater tots. My oldest ordered the Chattahoochee burger with sweet potato fries and my youngest ordered the Peachtree burger with regular fries. While waiting for the food, I noticed this Taco Mac had a large indoor dining area and some outdoor seating. There were TVs everywhere, and they were cranking up a NFL playoff game that was starting. The food came out pretty quickly. Tyler, our server, was busy working multiple tables, but did find time for us. We started to dig into our entrees. I really enjoyed my Habanero Chicken sandwich, I could really taste the habanero heat coming through. The whole family enjoyed their meals. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend a...
Read moreThis place is hit or miss every time. Literally like leaving your meal and dining experience up to a coin flip. Sometimes you have good food (relative, as the food is generally just mediocre) with terrible service. Sometimes its the inverse or sometimes a double combination of good food, great service or terrible food, terrible service. Come here for beer and chips, dont expect much and you wont be disappointed.
EDIT: I am lowering my review to one star. I had an awful experience the other night, which reflects a majority of my experiences at this location. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. Waiter took our drink orders and brought them out but then didn't return to our table for 30 minutes to get our food order. After that the food took another 45 minutes with our waiter not visiting us until he brought out the food. The food came out cold, and a few people received their entrees before their side dishes. Our checks of course we're brought out super fast. We spoke with the manager after we paid our bills and the manager said that he would make things right. He walked off and another 15 minutes passed, so we just left. Because we had spent more than two hours there and wanted to go home.
This is characteristic of most experiences I have at taco Mac at this point. Mostly an unpleasant dining experience. Food is good, but it is a hit or miss whether the food will be properly prepared and hot. They can't handle crowds, they can't handle late nights and they seem to go through a management/ownership change of some kind every few months that demolishes the wait staff/customer service and also...
