Food is okay, but would probably be better if it was all timed to be done at the same time. Never fails any time I place an order, online, timed, or in person, I always end up waiting on part or parts of the order that aren't done, while the rest has been done for awhile. Last visit order was almost completed, minus the shake, when they realized they didn't have bacon for one of my burgers. The burger needing bacon was already prepped and laying open faced on the prep table, where it lay open for the next 10 mins or so while the bacon cooked. Pretty unhygienic considering the amount of moving bodies going by the prep table in and out of the kitchen with God knows what flying around. They did apologize for the wait and tried offering a free shake, drink, or extra fries all of which I declined. Then when the last burger was done, I was still not handed my order. They decided to make me wait even longer than the 30 minutes I had already been waiting to force free fries on me that I had declined. Then I asked, what is the second bag of fries for? Because the first order is too old? Then they got snarky and said "your getting free food" as though they had done me a favor. They made me wait extra time for my order that was finally complete, just to push off "free" food that had already been declined in order to "fix" their mistake. What are 2 people supposed to do with 5 lbs of fries that they didn't order and also refused when offered? I suppose they were trying to make it right, but just ended up turning a bad service experience into an even more horrible service experience. Go big or go home I guess.

Ordering in person was my last attempt at figuring out how to place an order from 5 guys, and not have to wait on parts to be finished, while other parts have been done and are sitting and getting old. 4-6 chances given to this location, but not a fan of their kitchen processes and making one item at a time until your order is complete. I visited one of their restaurants in Dumfries, Virginia, this past weekend and had a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming.
