Been golfing here for years and it’s always been one of my go to’s for solid practice on a challenging course, have supported this course for at least the last 5 years.
Terrible experience yesterday, guy had a weird power attitude at the front desk, I think his name was Quzir. Wouldn’t allow me to check in my girl friend using a voucher. Kept saying my girlfriend has me to be physically in the golf shop to check in. Wouldn’t allow me to pay for her and me at the same time. He made it borderline creepy.
After 10-15 minutes of back and forth for the check in we were waited another 5-10 minutes for a cart to be brought up to play at 5pm on a Friday evening. 3 carts were parked just randomly outside the club house which i couldn’t use cause they were “his carts”. The cart we finally got was soaking wet and we had to wipe it down, the score card was already used from the previous golfer. After the round i brought up the score card and the soaking wet cart to him and he didn’t seem to care. All around weird power trip from this pro shop employee.
The prices here have tripled over the last year and half, a small bucket of balls with 25-35 balls is $15, course is being ran into the ground.
It used to be a hey we know we’re a dog track but it’s golf, pay $30 to navigate 18 holes and people loved it.
Now it’s turned into $26 cart fees (cause very few will walk that course with the layout) and the green fees have doubled with zero improvement in course condition.
I will not be supporting this golf course anymore, I rarely leave reviews and even more rarely leave negative reviews but what they’re doing to this course is criminal. I’m not some angry Karen type. This was legit a terrible experience to the point I felt I needed to write this.
Check my review history for google if you even can, this may be like my...
Read moreI have been a Montclair resident for over 15 years and until recently had never given the golf course a try. My only reasoning being the negativity I had heard about the quality of the course. I decided to give the place a try about 2 months ago and can't stop playing there! I enjoyed it so much that I brought some coworkers and we now play Montclair once a week. If you're looking for a flawless golf course, Montclair is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a super fun course where each hole is unique and you get a great mix of grades, scenery and water, Montclair has it! Club pro Chuck Harris and staff are great people and the hot dogs are excellent! The fairways are very well maintained and currently some of the greens are just as nice as any other local course. What it may lack in manicure, Montclair makes up in charm. If you haven't given Montclair a try in awhile, you're missing out on a really enjoyable...
Read moreNot worth it. $70 for 18 and a cart, but even if it was $40 it would be hard to justify.
I should’ve taken photos but holes 1-8 greens were terrible. 2 of them had big patches that were actually very torn up and dark brown dead. Overall the greens were bad. Holes 9-18 had some better greens with 3-4 looking good, but that’s not a good percentage.
The fairways also were super narrow with dense forests so if you didn’t hit perfectly straight you’d lose your ball.
The range wasn’t anything nice and the clubhouse store was lacking organization.
After our round we went inside to the restaurant/bar but they had 1 girl working all tables and bar. She said she’d be right with us but 10min later still not even a water. We ended up leaving after 3 guys walked in after us, sat near us at the bar, and she took their drink orders and brought food before we got anything or asked anything.
Overall bad experience especially...
