El Primo # 2 Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Duncan

What a delight to find a local hotspot along our route from Athens, Ga to 🍒 Cherryville, Nc and back. After an awesome home birth, we asked Siri for Mexican restaurants near us. Upon being seated in this location, we noticed one by one individuals and families entering then being called by name - what a delightful site to witness in today’s world! Owners and employees were taking time to welcome and speak to each patron to the restaurant.

My doula apprentice and I enjoyed delicious tacos and burritos here in SC after a long day of skipping breakfast and lunch. With our bellies full, the drive home was much more pleasant!

For folks like us who often drive four plus hours to work one way to support couples who desire low intervention birth, this local restaurant was a treat! Our well needed caffeine aka perfectly bubbly coca- cola with a wedge of lime also topped off the evening! For me, I like the spicer the better so, I added pickled jalapeños to my meal. For my helper, she doesn’t care for spicy and found the mild salsa and mild cheese dip perfect for her. We will make a detour along our travels again...

El Primo need to be shut down for serving food that was left over from other orders or the day before. That's exactly what my food looked like a couple of days ago. I ordered 2 of the Texas Fajita for Two. This was a to-go order, and I tipped. When I got home, my food was so dried out and drenched in pepper and old meat grease we couldn't eat it. I tried to call to make a complaint and request a refund or at least a credit for the whole order, but got no answer and it was too hot to go back out. I was feeding 4 kids and myself. I had to pick through the food and dig out a few pieces of shrimp because they weren't as dry as the chicken, the steak and the peppers n onions. Never in my life have I experienced service like this from a Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa, beans n rice was all we could eat. The meat was like leather. They should be ashamed of themselves. To make matters worse, I started getting back to back spam calls at least 15 minutes after leaving the restaurant. Look...

Food is usually good and the guy waiter Is always very nice but ...today the girl that took our order dint even greet us she just asked what we wanted to drink with this cold attitude....when I got my food my chicken was raw so I told one if the waiters because ours was no where to be found (that's why she didn't get a tip) so they took 20 extra minutes to cook my food by the time they brought it my family was done eating and it was time to go back to work ....so when I go to pay I tell the cashier if I was not going to get a discount bc of my chicken being raw and she said well was the replacement cooked all the way?? ....I said yess but I was still not able to enjoy my food and had to wait longer so then the "manager" comes and dint even apologize he just asked what plate I got I told him and he printed me another receipt and said here us your discount! .... $1.50 that was my discount I would give their food a 4 but the manager and that girl waiter a -5 for their...
