Bricktown coney island and diner is a staple to the community it seems as a traveler like me walks through the door. They know locals by name. They know what drinks they want before they get to the table. As I walked in I was greeted with a friendly hello from the staff and an invite to sit where I like. Almost Immediately I felt like it was going to be a nice place to eat. It was around the evening maybe 4ish. Out of 20ish tables they were filled up with friendly laughs and conversation. Our waitress was patient with us as we sifted through a very crafted menu offering a variety of very good smelling food I might add. The food service was fast not 10 minutes sitting in here and the table who sat down just as I was entering had already ordered and started thier meal. I loved that. As we ordered again our waitress took our questions and took our order and now with anticipation and a very empty stomach we wait for our appetizer. We got the chicken strips Golden brown and tender and so juicy I'd say that was the most enjoyable chicken strips I've eaten. Cooked perfectly. Not shortly after our massive plates of food arrived. It's been awhile where I have gone and literally gotten my money's worth in food. The buger was juicy and loaded with my preferred toppings. And I wanted a side of chili cheese fries as it comes with fries however they got thier own plate! My guest ordered fish and chips and that didn't disappoint either. The breading was crisp and golden and when i tell you it was full of meat! 2 inches thick and crunchy goodness. The takedown was the Bricktown coney dog. Now I'm not a fan of cinnamon in chili but the chili suace paired with the golden cheese was good. I tried what the locals tend to eat as I asked. I wasn't disappointed by any means. A 5 star experience in my opinion. Great fast food to soothe an empty tummy, a community place where friends and family meet together....

Ok, I’m sure this review won’t be popular with the locals. But I’m sorry, I thought the whole experience was sub par. I walked in, and wasn’t sure if I wait to be seated or take a seat, so I track down a black haired young waitress. She said “yea just take a seat anywhere”..so I did. While I waited over 15 minutes , she finally came back to me and said” have you been waited on?” I said no, she apologized and said can I get you a drink?…now, I haven’t even received a menu yet…she responded “well while I’m here I can just take the drink order”…so I said what do you have?? She told me. anyway drink ordered, and then she came back a few mins later with drink and menu. Gone another 10 minutes….She wasn’t very personable with me. I felt like I was a burden customer. So I really wanted to try these coneys..I mean, their name is Coney Island…they must be great. They came to me in 4 minutes…amazingly fast….no cheese either…is that normal? Anyway. And I’m sorry. That was average castleberry canned coney sauce. Very plain coneys. But, I can say I watched an awesome pregnant waitress talking so nice and fun to her customers, they all seemed to be loving their experience and food. I wanted that.. So I’ll chalk it up to my waitress set the tone. Yea , yea, I know..we’re short handed, new people, blah blah…but at some point maybe remember the customer experience goes a long way. I come here every football weekend from 3 1/2 hours away and try different places, but I think I’ll pass on...

While i was eating my food when the man cooking my food slapped the counter with his hand to impress a girl he knows. it was very loud in this small establishment and sounded like a gunshot. i ask the waitress if she could ask the person who did this not to do it again. she asked him and i could hear him yell at her. i apologized to the waitress for getting her yelled at . apparently he had been doing this all day and other customers had complained. i finished my food, she offered to take up check so as to avoid a confrontation with the cook she brings back change and who comes out next. a burly looking man. so now im sitting in a booth with this aggressive man standing over me while im trapped in this booth because he wont move. he apologized and i told him i didnt want his apologies i just wanted him to leave me alone so i could leave. i had to tell him to move before i could stand. me and my spouse argued with this nasty mam a couple of more minutes before he stated i didnt need to come back there. never felt so threatened in a restaurant in my whole life. excellent food, excellent waitress, horrible atmosphere. down right threatening and agressive behavior that left me wondering what this world is coming to. and since when is it mandatory to accept someones apology? one of the other customers said he was apologizing and i should accept his apology. no i dont have to accept an apology from someone who clearly had me pinned in a booth demanding i be okay with...

UPDATE: Was able to stop in again. This time we went for the omelet. Wife got the steak omelet and I did a build your own. Both were great. She said the steak was very tender. Was driving through Dundee and decided to stop here for lunch. What a great surprise. Definitely glad we did. Wife and I both got burgers. She got homemade chips and said they were very good. I got seasoned curly fries and they were good. Both burgers were excellent. Nice, comfortable, reasonably priced restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. I do recommend this place to eat. We'll be back if we go through there again.

Another win for Dundee! Their Coney dogs are really good; the spiced meat tastes amazing! The chili fries are pretty good too but not something to go out of the way for. The big hit though are the hotdogs, but if you aren’t a fan of that there’s plenty to choose from here. I will certainly be stopping by to try other menu items. I for one enjoyed every savory bite of my loaded coney dog.
