This is a story of differences between large-sized & medium-sized Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk.
On the Sunday morning of 21 June 2020 at 10:05 AM, my wife bought a large-sized Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk at the drive-through & paid $4.79.
Later that evening at the exact same drive-through Dunkin Donuts location at 10:19 PM, my wife brought a medium-sized Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk & paid $4.99.
The medium-sized drink cost $0.20 more than the large-sized drink. The difference in price is the almond milk. The almond milk for the large drink cost $0.50 & the almond milk for the medium drink cost $1.00.
Not knowing why the Dunkin Donuts' cost basis of a medium drink would be more than a large drink, we inquired to our server, Ali. At first, he said the morning crew made a mistake by charging less for almond milk. We didn't buy that. Fortunately, my wife still had the receipt from that morning's visit. We suggested he may have made the mistake by charging more. Next, he said the charge for an ICED Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk was different from a hot Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk. We didn't buy that. Both receipts clearly show she didn't buy an ICED Matcha Latte green tea with almond milk, either in the morning or evening. Ali was really reaching. He wasn't very convincing.
I found an article which states Dunkin Donuts is charging $0.50 for almond milk, but why is Ali charging $1.00. Doesn't make much sense. Is the evening crew performing some sort of minimalist money skimming operation? Any logical reasonable explanation would be...
Read moreThis is the best Dunkin' Donuts I have been to. First, the way they make my coffee/food puts a smile on my face all day long. The staff knows you by your voice at the drive-through, and from your voice, ask me if I want items that I've ordered in the past. A manager is supposed to be a leader a teacher and that is something she is this manager works in the morning around 6:00 6:30 in the morning and she has the store running like a well-oiled machine. The thing is, she does it without yelling or disciplining her employees in front of customers she does it by using positive reinforcement. She is one of the best managers I've seen in retail ever. You can tell how great a manager is when the employees give great service if she is at the store or not, and these employees are just like that. They are great and very respectful. They also are always quick to fix your order if it is not correct, no argument, they just fix it. It used to be that was the standard unfortunately places like this are far and few between. The store is always clean, EVEN the bathrooms, shocking, I know. They make sure that the dining area is wiped down constantly. Even if nobody has sat there for a few, they still will wipe it down every half an hour. If someone has been eating in, they clean the area right after they have left. Oh, I know that you probably hate it just as much as I do when you walk into a dirty store. Floors and surfaces are disgusting sticky dirty gross all around. HERE, floors are clean, displays are clean, and items on display shelves are clean!!!!! I love this place. 5 kisses from...
Read moreA SEVICE FEE TO REMOVE ICE FROM YOUR DRINK!! Yes, YOU have to PAY them to remove ice from YOUR drink lemonade. This is highway robbery!
Not only does ice water down your drink, it tricks you into thinking there’s more drink when it starts to melt, and since ice takes up room in your cup, restaurants add it to avoid giving you more product. Literally anywhere else won’t throw a fit if you request no ice.
But here, they wanted me pay them to remove the ice. With sales tax, I would have paid about $11 for a $8 drink.
And the real kicker, that service fee to remove the ice; it’s roughly the price of how much the ice cost to make per cup (the water & electric bill).
BUT THATS NOT ALL
When I told them I didn’t want the drink and pulled up to pay for my food, the manger was basically hiding in the drive thru window and avoiding looking at me. Barely wanted to give me the receipt, trying to quickly get me out the line. Only one person was behind me, and that was after I was at the pick up window.
TL;DR If you get a drink, and you don’t want the ice, they will charge you to remove the ice. Or they will charge your more for something you don’t want. Because they want to charge you full price for less than half...
